I enjoy posting here about sports and trivia and movies and what-not, but the jerkiness has to stop. It is only a few of the people here but they are very noisy, and don't respond to PMs unless you are ETB where you make them public. Apparently there is a fight going on in craptown, Ohio.

For the millionth time my wife is not Asian! She's Swiss-American. That means white. I do find many Asian women attractive, especially the hot Duke cheerleader (per the college basketball forum).

I really have no problem with you, MB, but you do come off as a pretentious ass sometimes. We typically agree on things, and I truly have no issue with you, but the passport quotes, etc. are not a good look. I do think there is a gaggle of assholes on this site who occasionally go too far, and once they hate someone, they really overdo it. But that doesn't change the fact that you seem smug and pompous at times.

What's the objective? ....to get peopel to stop posting a certain way? That's up to Justin. It may or may not happen.

The defense you have is nothing more than stating your opinion. People may respond and post theirs. Your defense, just as other people's defense, shouldn't be any more than that. It's just a bulletin board.

Civil discourse? Sure, it might be heated, particularly on the politics board, but we know that going in to it. No one should voice an opinion about a topic that is relatively tame, and have 6 or so people throw out non-sequiturs for no other reason other than being jerks.

If there is an ignore feature on this board, I'd love to know where it is. It is a true shame that we've lost a lot of good posters.

If that's the case then your "defense" against civil discourse is nothing more than a request to Justin. You may or may not get it.

The personality of the board is made up of it's users. It's what Justin wants it to be. As a poster/reader, you either participate or you don't.

For a moment of seriousness, I think most of us here have the capacity to be douchey at times. Some more than others, yes, but pretty much all the regulars are skilled at some form of douchery, whether it be insults or passive-aggressive semantics bickering. Which probably has a lot to do with why so much gets left alone. Reading this thread made me remember something I'd read earlier and after searching for a bit, I found it.

The thread from a couple weeks back started by fuckin' Isadore about pit bulls. To break it down (anyone wants actual quotes, just find the thread) MB made statements about dogs based on his dog(s) and how it/they are great around children. lhslep commented that just using his dogs to make a point was flawed logic or something like that.

Which led to a series of posts where MB's main point was that lhslep goes to a shitty law school. Which is the sort of rebuttal that would be expected if he'd made comments along the line of "using your dogs to make a point about entire breeds is fucking stupid, retard!", but he didn't, and, therefore, it looked to be as douchey as about anything here, the wedding thread and so on.

Is the wedding thread worth a read?
