Izzo is glorified entirely too much for that stat about taking every recruiting class to the Final Four, since it has resulted in just one championship. If we are going to praise him for all of those Final Four trips, then we should also criticize him to some degree for coming up short so many times on college basketball's biggest stage. That is my beef with the Tom Izzo hero worship.

What if Florida had beaten Michigan State in the 2000 national title game? How would that change your overall perception of Izzo? The game amounted to just 40 minutes of his coaching career, but a loss in that game would give Izzo zero titles in six Final Four appearances. Would Izzo still get the same level of admiration he does today?

There was more time left than the two Wisc rebounders thought there at the end of the half, and they both missed due to rushing their shots, and missed making it a 1 point game.

He gets criticized all the time for that, especially by Duke fans. In fact it is the Duke fans here that have probably criticized him the most.

He has sucked in the tournament the past several years.

Like Dayton, Wisconsin is definitely fighting an uphill battle and is not going to get any favors. Kaminsky and Co. are just gonna have to will their way to victory if they want to reach the Final Four.
