Their conference RPI of 5th in the country pretty much was right on.
Does conference really matter in this tournament?

Iowa, Nebraska and Ohio State were a joke. Michigan, Michigan State and Wisconsin were absolutely dominant.
Syracuse and Pittsburgh crushed their opponents. Duke was terrible and NC State choked away a huge 2nd half lead.

The only conference you can really say was overrated is the AAC. Cincinnati loses, Louisville and Connecticut were extremely close to losing.

NC State screwed up, no doubt, but let's see how UNC and UVA plays,

Duke going down to Mercer, NC State going down to an A-10 team, etc. ACC losing to inferior opponents, not just Duke

It's hard to make a case for the AAC too. The committee shit on them, and it's just largely proving to be correct.

It doesn't matter, but I was just saying that since there was some discussion yesterday about the ACC being the best conference in the country. Of which I disagreed.

It's not a big deal

Just saw a crazy stat about Duke... They have the worst winning percentage (69.2%) of any top 3 seed in the tournament over the last 10 years that have played at least 10+ games as a top 3 seed.

So...one other team then. I'm not disagreeing with you, but how about waiting to see how the other teams do first.

When a single conference runs off 5+ titles in a row or starts to put 50% in the Elite 8 on a consistent basis, we can start talking conferences. In college basketball, in a one-and-done format, nothing is more overrated.

For instance, over the last 20 years, the SEC is 2nd in titles and in Final Fours (I believe only the ACC has more). However, 5 of their 6 titles and 8 of their 14 Final Fours were Kentucky or Florida. Outside of a few schools, the conference sucks. The same can be said if you take Duke and Carolina out of the ACC...

Duke finished with 38 three attempts. That has to be a season high

Bo should learn one sport before he takes on a second.

Duke made 15 three pointers today. One the entire season (32 total games), South Florida only made 97.

Against Mercer. Embarrassing they couldn't get the ball inside offensively against a team like this. Like Duke didn't play bad at all, they actually weren't good enough

This doesn't really surprise me. Aside from their 2010 national championship, how many other times have they under-performed? Mercer this year, Lehigh in 2012, almost lost to Belmont in 2008, VCU in 2007.

Coach K's strategy of shooting too many threes and never attacking the basket is getting old and predictable.

Sure, NCSU blew the lead, but St. Louis was a 3.5 point favorite...

Okay i'll explain again. Some were saying the ACC was arguably the best conference in the country. The best conference in the country just had a team lose to an Atlantic 10 team, and an Atlantic Sun team. Doesn't help the argument.

I don't understand why he keeps playing that style. It blows my mind. You're Coach K, you're fucking DUKE! Recruit talent for a balanced system. It's not like they can only get guys who can run this guard happy chucking offense. It seems like every time Duke goes down it's because the 3s didn't fall.

And I agree with your premise of the ACC, Duke backs it up, but NCSU, who shouldn't even have gotten in, doesn't.

Big XII was the deepest league. Their teams that didn't make the tournament, outside of TCU, were competitive. Both Texas Tech and West Virginia weren't pushovers. Every other league had at least 2 pushovers...some had many more. The ACC had 4 or 5...

If youre arguing for best conference in the country, one of your better teams shouldn't lose to a mid major team. All I'm saying. I realize they were the underdog in Vegas.
