I agree with Con_Alma, it isn't about the religion, but rather how power can corrupt.
I agree. That said, it also takes time and process to root that out. I'm confident that appropriate changes have been made.

Thanks so much for adding to this thread by telling us again about your atheism and your disregard for believers. The first 477 times you did this, it didn't sink in. But now it does.

I have met religious believers who are great and believers who are jerks - and everything in between. That is called the human condition. It applies to atheists as well.

Being religious has nothing to do with being great or being a jerk. It has everything to do with intellectual integrity. Believers by default have zero intellectual integrity and therefore are irrelevant automatically.

I always believe that if you truly love god and want to be with you, the quickest way is through your own death. Please act accordingly.

A lenten prayer for today:

Dear Lord, we are now in the holy season of Lent. We begin to realize anew that these are the days of salvation, these are the acceptable days. We know that we are all sinners. We know that in many things we have all offended Your infinite majesty. We know that sin destroys Your life in us as a drought withers the leaves and chokes the life from the land, leaving an arid, dusty desert. Help us now, Lord, in our feeble attempts to make up for past sin. Bless our efforts with the rich blessing of Your grace. Make us realize ever more our need of penance and of mortification. Help us to see, in our ordinary difficulties and duties, in the trials and temptations of every day, the best opportunity of making up for past infidelities. If someone truly believes in God, how is that not having intellectual integrity - being true to themselves and holding themselves to an honest standard? If they believe something to be true, then that is what they are doing.

Sleeper is kind of an 'evangelical' atheists?...kind of like Jehovah Witnesses...going door to door (blog to blog...thread to thread) trying to convert you 'as long as there is a single believer on the planet". Only not so benign.

If you don't convert....

I'm not trying to convert anyone. I just want people who want to be with God to do the right thing and go be with him. Leave the planet to the intelligent people who understand how evidence, logic, and reason work. The world will be a better place and you can still go to heaven.

Not sure why believers think they have to be here and ruin it for the rest of us; end your life and go be with your god.

That is a great idea because so far prayer to other gods has failed horribly, maybe I should use a lamb?
