If we keep the BCS, no. If we go to a playoff, no. Play the first however many rounds as straigh up home and away based on seeds/rankings. The championship should then be played at alternating locations (including Northern/Cold states) but should always be played indoors when in snow country. An outdoor game in Columbus in January would suck balls for the fans, for the teams, etc.

The only reason it never will is because of attendance issues. If you said you were gonna play it outside @ the Meadowlands, or Camp Randall, or in Ann Arbor how many people are going to want to go sit in the cold?
That being said, force their hand: Playoff.

NC Game? No.
Playoff game(s)? Yes. Play 4 first round games at home sites in mid-December, some of which may end up in cold-weather sites. No worries about fans traveling, etc., the home fans will fill the seats.

I don' think there would be a problem selling out in the North...It's the freakin National Championship!...
Somebody earlier stated...why in the world would Florida fans want to come up North to watch their team play in the NC...Hopefully that was sarcasm (hard to pick up over the internet)...My reply would be...THE SAME REASON OSU FANS GO AROUND THE COUNTRY TO WATCH THEIR TEAM PLAY! Real fans will watch their team in any conditions.

i think it'd be kind of cool to have the championship game in the meadowlands every four years or so, but at the same time, do northern teams really have that big of a problem playing in perfect conditions? i understand they have to travel to these games, but what northern doesn't travel well?

It was pretty comical to see the players from Miami, and their fans all bundled up while Wisconsin players and fans were going short sleeved.
