I spent nearly every day in the library when I worked in one while in college. By my count, I've been to the library over 1,000 times.

When I was a kid I practically lived in the town's library....only thing that kept me sane. Now with the internet I rarely go, and buy books online.

Haven't been to a public library in a long time. When I was in college, I liked going to the campus one, though.

I go to the main library in downtown Cleveland at least once per week. It's an awesome place. I feel very fortunate to have easy access.

Do you guys who belong to the bigger city libraries have much of a wait for new books? My dad still frequents his local library is on waiting lists for new releases, but I don't think he has to wait very long.

I have checked out 6 books so far, only one of them was at the branch closest to our house. The others I had to request and only one of them was on a wait. It took a few days for them to be transferred to my branch but it wasn't bad. The Monuments Men was the longest wait. I started out in 33rd position but quickly moved up and had the book within a week.

Library's are primarily for poor people to use computers, at least in DC. I tried using the library to get some new books to read but got tired of having to deal with Shaniqua and her 12 children all surfing tumblr and blasting out hip hop music appropriate for children under 10. The worst part is, I know my tax dollars are paying for her food, housing, smart phone, etc. Honestly if she just died and her children were taken under protective services, I'd probably be more willing to use the library around here.

I love the library. I go less often now that I have a Kindle, but pre-e reader, I was there quite a bit.

I go to my local branch if I want to read a book that just came out. I really like that you can rent Kindle books from the cleveland libarary's website, but the waiting list on some books, even old, are super long. I haven't been to the main Cleveland branch but I hear it is a lot like Sleeper mentioned. Or homeless people getting out of the cold.

That is not what the main Cleveland library is like at all. I work right across the street from it and am over there all the time. It is a really nice place and gets all sorts of people using it. You should come down to visit it sometime - it's worth the trip downtown.
