Lady D'Friskies used to have a second job doing the evening books and cash accounting for a small pharmacy two nights a week (part of the "let's pay cash for the kid's college" campaign). The place closed at 10 pm - on many nights there would be just two young women (the assistant manager and a cashier) and my wife working at closing time. On those nights, I would drive over about 15 minutes before closing time, let the manager know I was there, do the "cart roping", walk around the building a couple of times, and then sit out front of the entrance until they walked out together ten minutes after closing (the cash went into a time safe picked up by an armored car the next morning).

Nothing ever happened during the four years she worked there, but on at least two occasions a carload of young males pulled up, sat in the parked car for a couple of minutes, and then took off. Don't know if I stopped something from happening, or if they were legit and thought ==I== was a hood rat, but... who knows.
