I simply don't watch until week 1....but this being basically the first preseason game for everyone....how many of these excessive calls are on guys that will be deep on the depth chart? Thanks for the stats to back up your issue. Sucks the refs are ruining preseason fun for those that enjoy. Hopefully it is much better during the season.....but cracking down hard on something this early could let players know they aren't getting away with it this year. Similiar to Hockey a few years ago when they finally cracked down on obstruction.
