This week's USA Today poll: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/polls/

Not surprisingly the B1G took a major hit. I cannot recall a time when the B1G didn't have at least 1 representative in the Top 10.

Sparty drops to #13 as the highest ranked B1G representative. The Buckeyes dropped 11 slots to #18 and unbelievably enough still tops Virginia Tech who cracked the Top 25 at #19.

Despite "whipping" McNeese State, Nebraska drops a slot. Wisky jumped 2 places to become the B1G's second highest ranked team at #17...#17.

But then again the polls no longer matter.

I have to coach that day. I hope to catch 3 or 4 of their games.

What a disappointing year this is turning into. Both my teams BG and OSU were looking awesome in the preseason, and then we learn that OSU can't block or stop the pass and BG's new coach stopped caring about defense

Unless there is bedlam in college football and everyone loses 2 games.
If Oregon and LSU run the table, the Sparty or Badger will look fine if they are the champs.

This team turned into 10-2 to 7-5 without Matt Johnson.

The Indiana up tempo will turn the game bad quick.

That's crazy...did that just come out of nowhere or was penn state appealing and the decision finally came through?

1-1 after beating another MAC team and losing to a blah team from a power conference.

Which means they'd be middle of the road in the B1G at the moment. Upper-middle, probably.

Statement from NCAA:

"Due to Penn State’s progress in ensuring athletics dept functions with integrity, NCAA immediately restores football postseason eligibility."

Guess the NCAA thought with everyone destroying the NFL they would get ripped a lot less if they announced that now than on it's own. I don't have an issue with it but guessing some people will.

In layman's terms..."Nobody else seems to be butt raping children at Penn State best we can tell, and Penn State was losing money like a seive as long as the football program was handcuffed so we are cutting them a huge break."

The lesson as always, better to turn a blind eye to child rape than allow boosters to give their own money to athletes.

The B1G is not only down now, but imo I don't see it coming back anytime soon, if ever. I know things are cyclical, but with the warmer climate and brand of football that attract recruits able to be played because of it, I just don't see kids coming North a whole lot moving forward. Again, jmo.

And then they remembered they were Cincy. Toledo got as close as 7...but now Cincy leads by 17 with 8 and some change left.
