Life has many pit falls and obstacle but sometime listening and learning from more experience and wiser individual has its benefits to avoid those situations. “Words of Wisdom”

My grandpa had a great amount of influence in my life. Word of Wisdom ( he had many)</SPAN>
Some I never really understood until later in life …</SPAN>

Never buy cheap tools if the job is serious so are the tools</SPAN>
Marriage: Don’t go to bed with an argument … you’ll be wrong twice</SPAN>
Aim high or shot yourself in the foot</SPAN>

Any “Word of Wisdom” you have learned and listen to that has been truthful? </SPAN>

When golfing with a . friend, who has golfed for years. He has since retired, but this was about 9-10 years ago.

Setting: Golf Course
*I was getting mad, pissed at my golf game, slamming clubs on ground, cussing.

Friend: "Stud, you shouldn't get so mad."
Me: "Why's that?"
Friend: "Because you're not any good."

This simple conversation literally changed the way I look at many things in life. What's the point of getting so freaking upset over everything?

Had a similar experience in high school. A teacher asked another kid who was arguing with a classmate if the argument will matter in 5 years. Having a long term view on things like that is important.

My mom always tells me that her divorce from my dad was pretty friendly and painless. The whole reason they decided to separate was because they were tired of fighting, not so they could keep fighting long after. It doesn't really pertain to me since I am not married, but it always made a ton of sense to me. I see couples going through terrible divorces quite often, and am reminded of it.

Not really your traditional "words of wisdom"...but oh well.
