Shopping for a new vehicle (truck) well new to me anyway, something btwn 2008 - 2013 with less than 75k. Anyway had a salesperson today really pushing the fact his models are "made on the USA". Well I'm a value shopper and the USA thing doesn't cut jack-shit with me. Question do many of you still only buy USA when it comes to vehicles?

Not surprised a deadbeat wouldn't give a shit about something being made in America.

Depends on the type of vehicle. I like Tacoma's for mid-sized trucks, Ford for full-size.

The whole "Made in America" tag regarding vehicles doesn't mean jack shit these days.

Some "Foreign" cars are made here, while "Domestics" can be produced abroad.

True, but if you buy Toyota or Honda (or Chrysler, for that matter) the profits from your purchase go overseas. On a Ford or GM, those profits go back into our economy.

How many foreign made plastic components do you think there are on a domestically made vehicle? And I'm way more concerned about keeping money in my wallet than I am about where the profit is going.

What do you plan to do with this truck?

Consider ground clearance because most from NEO are fat.

I have a Porsche Cayenne, a Mercedes E Class and a Cadillac SLS. Only one one was made in the U.S.

I have a Camry. I'll test drive a few options when I get my next car, but I like it. Has been trustworthy so far.

They cost a fortune....get what feels good and catches your eye. Not sure I could ever get myself to buy a newer truck. I've driven a car forever and am so used to it a truck and a $700 payment wouldn't feel right.

I drive whatever I can get the best deal on, including the long term maintenance costs. Almost bought a Cadillac CTS last time I bought a car, but hated the prospects of paying way more for maintenance than with other cars. Kept looking and ended up with a really good deal on my Monte Carlo. I'm not loyal to any make or model, let the money pick your vehicle.

The profits on a used car wouldn't go overseas. Plus mr CEO isn't putting the profits in the economy regardless. If a car is built in America, that's how you keep the money in Americans hands. List of most american made cars... Lots of Honda and Toyota on the list...

I've been driving Hondas for 15 years, with one of the best residual values out there.

Truck, though... I'd buy a ford.

Especially considering he is the same deadbeat who coined the term "USA American." Just fails galore with him.

The Tundra's a bad ass truck. I was all set to sign the papers on a Rock Warrior package when a 2006 Nissan Titan with only 28,000 miles on it came up for sale. Was really going to like the Tundra, but don't regret my decision saving about $30,000 and buying the Titan.
