Not having read the books, I didn't know what to make of most of that.

But seems like the dragons is all growed up.

And please don't make me wait a whole season for King Pube to die a horrible death.

Ive made this a TV Show ONLY thread, at the request of almost everyone from last year. Its OK to reference the books in the way Ted did above, but PLEASE dont make me thread-ban people for doing anything more.

If you want, you can start a thread which discusses the TV show versus the books...or hell, talk about only the books. I dont care. But dont bring it here.

If you guys need a quick fix, I think there's a 30 minute GoT special out there some where....should be under GoT under you're HBO on-demand. It's just 'ok', interesting to see some of the actors/actresses give their perspective on their character.

Ariya is my favorite I think. Just told the Dog one day she's gonna stick a sword through his eye and out the back of his skull(even the 2nd time this weekend it's still good)

As expected, a slow episode, but I liked it. The Hound's chicken convo/scene was awesome.

Slow? I guess in terms of raw action, maybe. But I thought it was a great opener...and thinking the whole time how crazy this season will be.

The Dog had some great lines tonight.

On a related note...are the books this obsessed with gay sex or is that an HBO thing?

HBO. It upped the ante with the gay thing....there are references (implied, like Renly and Loras) but not much explicit. Lesbian sex, there's a slight bit more of that.

I really liked this episode mainly because it focused on my favorite characters. There was no Littlefinger, Bran, Hodor, or Stannis and I didn't miss them at all.

Arya is becoming a cold little girl. I enjoy it.

Also, the kill from the Hound when he rammed that dudes face on the dagger....f'n brutal.

That's why I liked this one so much. Couldn't put my finger on it, but you're exactly right. Although I've not been a big fan of the Arya story line, but she's on her way to becoming a Manson (Dog) groupie.

I've always liked Arya's story line. Geoffrey always entertains as well, but we didn't get much of him either. Someone pointed out to me that Ramsey was not in this episode, and he is a crazy bastard (literally!) that always brings the fun. So many ruthless nuts on this show.

Lol, there's like 1/5 maybe as much gay sex shown as there is straight sex and that counts as obsessed?

Can't wait for Joffrey to die.

HBO has probably gone a bit too far with the nudity/sex stuff in general. It seems a bit like exploitation.

Well, over 10% would be disproportionate, no? And HBO is always a little gratuitous, but I think your 1/5 estimate is low (you don't appear to be counting the lesbian scenes) relative to the number of people, as opposed to the same people in multiple scenes.

And if you want to talk gay sex (real and implied) relative to other tv shows, HBO is clearly pushing the envelope and is clearly doing so intentionally (why I asked if the books were like that).
