It's all selfish and hurts the team because he only talked about his actions and his opposing receiver, not about his teammates which is the whole point of team sports but maybe a simpleton like you doesn't understand that? To use a phrase from you, his play sent his team to a Super Bowl. He is more engrossed with his performance than the fact his team is moving on and that's gotta be concerning to his teammates and coaches.LJ;1569733 wrote:Its pretty obvious that you never have. Nothing he did or said has hurt the Seahawks as a team. Nothing he said or did will have an impact on the Super Bowl. IF anything, he will bring the media attention onto him and away from some of his teammates.
Come super bowl sunday his interview will be nothing but old news and will have nothing to do with what happens. He was in the heat of the moment and didnt have his head on straight. He is a smart enough guy that this wont fester and continue on.

It does hurt the team because it shows how this guy actually thinks and I'm sure it turns his teammates off a little bit that he acts and thinks like he's bigger than the team. I mean come on, your a CB in a sport where you have 10 other teammates on the fieldthavoice;1569782 wrote:LJ is wrong, and your comments are almost as dumb as his are.

He wasn't selfish at all. I never played past High School but I did play in 5 playoff games over 2 years on high school.if you had played at that level you would know how high emotions are running literally seconds after the game ends, especially for someone who just made a play as big as he did.Classyposter58;1569780 wrote:It's all selfish and hurts the team because he only talked about his actions and his opposing receiver, not about his teammates which is the whole point of team sports but maybe a simpleton like you doesn't understand that? I dont think it was selfish at all, just made himself sound like a punk.

Not to mention that a corner who is put on an island the whole game is playing by himself essentially. His one on one matchup 100% depends on his performance and nothing else. Even Urban Meyer says that each player has to win their individual matchups in order for the team to perform.Heretic;1569790 wrote:lol, as long as he produces on the field and isn't being a cancer towards coaches/teammates (ie: complaining about salary, teammates, coaching schemes), I really doubt anyone on the Seattle roster really cares that he gave a hilariously unhinged interview or that he loves self-promotion.
I doubt players are sitting around today thinking, "Man, it'd be great that we made the Super Bowl...but Sherman just ruined it for all of us...sigh...".
