I would consider Mike Shanahan. Always liked him. This year was an aberition in my view.

Shanahan is a bum. He had the best rushing attack in the NFL this year but would rather throw the ball 50 times than take advantage of the run

He's won one playoff game without Elway. So stop posting STFU. Did this need it's own thread?

I like Shanahan, but I kinda wonder if the game has passed him by.

I hope the Gas Station billionaire agrees with you Mantooth and goes after somebody who's never been a HC again.

Oh, they will....No way they bring in a guy that will want control of personnel. Banner and Lombardi have wayyyyyyyy too big of egos for that. They will get a puppet like McDaniel

I don't care about how good of a coach he was or wasn't 20 years ago. Last 4 years with the redskins he was 24-40. As a head coach, if you average 6-10 that is not good. On top of losing you are also publically feuding with your owner and star qb. Not only are you a loser, but also a poor leader. That does not make a good coach. He may have been good 20 years, but he is a poor coach/leader today.

But he won the Superbowl 15 years ago! That qualifies him as a great coach now!

Wiz
Lovie
McDaniel
Shanahan

Who else?

What about Art Briles? My roommate brought him up earlier, not specifically for Cleveland, but just a name that could float around with all the coaching vacancies.

Saban is a god at Bama. He'd demand 12 mil a year to relocate to Cleveland.

As well as all of the powers Joe Banner presently enjoys.

It makes Saban a complete non-starter for this regime.

Where do Browns overall think their job ranks? I was talking about this at work with a Browns fan and other than the TB job he said the Browns are screwed because it's the second worst job out there. Think about it though, if the Texans can get a QB they're a playoff team again most likely, Detroit would be if they weren't so poorly coached, you've got RG3 and Morris at Washington and Minnesota has AP so who the heck are the Browns gonna get that will make such a big difference

The browns get a QB and they are in much better position than any of the teams you just listed.

I have zero issue with Saban, but we hear these rumors every year. He is a damn god down there with the inbreds....he isn't going anywhere

Belichek is laughing his ass off somewhere right now.

He keeps sending his scrub hand me downs to the Browns and we keep swirling around the bowl.

McDaniels will now make the 3rd NE coach we've signed in the last decade.

Some, not all. Definitely not Detroit. They have solid talent, Schwarts is just terrible.
