Well, mine is not that cheap, and I can afford my cable, I just don't feel like spending that money anymore. Just because you can afford something doesn't mean you should spend your money on it...

We don't technically get rid of cable but we do disconnected it each year for several months and literally don't watch any programming at all.

The company doesn't restrict me at all because we aren't on a contract. I do, however, pay for a basic antenna connection so I can avoid a monster reconnection fee when we turn it back on in the fall.

No, you're stealing from the cable companies accessing premium services with an account that is not yours. "I could live without those online streaming options" - pretty much the standard justification from everyone for stealing cable.

If you are logging in to HBO Go, etc, with an account that is not yours you are stealing service. It's no different than splicing your neighbor's cable or sharing their wifi. That's flat out stealing -a.k.a. using a service you didn't pay for - from the cable companies.

Look, if you're too ashamed or afraid to admit you steal cable, then perhaps you should pay for the services you use.

It is different because they're handing the access over. It's like approaching your neighbors and asking to splice the cable and they agree.

It's a violation of the terms between the owner and their cable provider, but it's not stealing.

By your rationale, asking to borrow someones car and they toss you the keys is stealing.

I think I'd equate it to stealing from netflix, hbo, etc...but frankly, IDGAF. If they really had a problem with it, they would find a way to limit the usage.
