I haven't disputed any such statement that increased morale, pride and nationalism can result from athletic competition. Why would you assume that I have??? Many forms of entertainment can create such a sense. Sport is one of them.

For the record, I cant wait for Rec to chime in on this thread. Im not sure how that guy hasnt had a heart attack or stroke from all the anger he has built up for certain sports figures and teams as well as his own teams fuck ups.
