I remember when Ohio State kicked Cincinnati's ass 23-19 in 2002. Actually one of the most exciting games in a year filled with them. On top of this, Cincinnati is coming of a 31-24 royal ass whoppin' of Miami, so they're probably cocky as hell. I can see a 5-7 point rout on the horizon.sleeper;1656779 wrote:We will beat the shit out of Cinci.

Whether the final score is 23-19, or 450-3, Ohio State will beat the shit out of Cinci.Dr Winston O'Boogie;1657106 wrote:I remember when Ohio State kicked Cincinnati's ass 23-19 in 2002. You are 0 for 2 in predictions so far this year. You promised a rout against Navy. That game was neck and neck until late in the game. Then Virginia Tech beat the Buckeyes going away. Now I don't know how old you are, but I can assure you the 23-19 game was as close as any game you'll ever see. Your arrogance regarding Ohio State is comical.sleeper;1657116 wrote:Whether the final score is 23-19, or 450-3, Ohio State will beat the shit out of Cinci.

This weeks game poster from Eleven Warriors. Think this is the best one I've seen from the guy who does them, Walt Keys. It's a huge picture and I'm not sure how to make it smaller but it's great.

Cinci is feeling like the favorite coming into this game. Bucks cannot underestimate these guys. If Bearcats score first I'm afraid 107,000 people are gonna piss down their legs.

I was only wrong once; that happens anytime you are ballsy and make predictions rather than just giving boring ol "Well it'll be a tough game, hope the Bucks can win it". This is Ohio State football. With that comes an expectation to not only win, but to entirely dismantle the opposition. If you prefer a mediocre national program with no expectations other than to beat the service academics every year, get blown out in bowl games and have moral victories(close losses are wins!), ND might be a better choice for you.Dr Winston O'Boogie;1657118 wrote:You are 0 for 2 in predictions so far this year. I didn't realize Ohio State played Toledo. I could have sworn it was Kent State. :RpS_blink:Classyposter58;1657119 wrote:Lol at who called Toledo a MAC bottom feeder. They've been one of the strongest teams in conference for quite awhile

I make predictions myself. Yours are downright comical. The "expectation" is not to dismantle the opposition - it is to win. If the former were the expectation, OSU football would be a failure.sleeper;1657197 wrote:I was only wrong once; that happens anytime you are ballsy and make predictions rather than just giving boring ol "Well it'll be a tough game, hope the Bucks can win it". He's an idiot because every OSU fan knows the Bucks have played exactly 4 legitimately competitive games since Urbie got here and he's 1-3.Heretic;1657425 wrote:If proving you wrong makes one an idiot...well, I can understand why we got voted America's Most Stupid Website threeve years running.

I think we can agree that OSU hasn't exactly lived up to expectations under Meyer, but it's not necessarily his fault the rest of the B1G sans Wisconsin and Michigan State has turned to shit, and caused every B1G win to be marginalized because of it.Tiernan;1657461 wrote:He's an idiot because every OSU fan knows the Bucks have played exactly 4 legitimately competitive games since Urbie got here and he's 1-3.

What were the expectations? He has a .900 winning % and an undefeated season in 2 full seasons for christ sakes. Any rational OSU fan would have taken that.Azubuike24;1657733 wrote:I think we can agree that OSU hasn't exactly lived up to expectations under Meyer, but it's not necessarily his fault the rest of the B1G sans Wisconsin and Michigan State has turned to shit, and caused every B1G win to be marginalized because of it.
He hasn't even been able to develop one of his recruiting classes all the way through yet. Anyone expecting a national title in his first 2 seasons was an idiot.

expectations are winning big games. was there no talent at OSU before he got here? Meyer is/was regarded as a top 3 coach in college football. Winning the conference, beating teams who historically choke in big games (Clemson), and beating average teams (Va Tech) are expected. Blowing out teams like Purdue are expected, not a miracle come from behind win from your back up QB. I'm a huge fan of Meyer, but I expect more.HelloAgain;1657838 wrote:What were the expectations? They went 6-7 the year before he arrived. If you would have told anyone they would go 24-2 over the next 26 games they'd have taken it with a smile. Bottom line.Pick6;1657861 wrote:was there no talent at OSU before he got here?

They haven't lived up to expectations because arguably, last year, they really should have played for a title. The way the season played out, that's what I thought.
My point was basically that they are being hurt by the perception of the conference, and much of that blame lies on Michigan and Nebraska. Nobody in the B1G is going to get the benefit of the doubt until something gives.

Expectations are exceedingly higher at one of the "historically" top 5 college programs in the nation. Unfortunately if Urbie stubs his toe again today (and I think he probably will...) Buckeye Nation will be faced with the realization we are not even a top ten program anymore...we will now be another Notre Dame...teams that were once proud & loud but are now on par with the UCLAs, Tenns & Nebs of the world. Second Tier.
