Received my letter in the mail today with details on the upcoming OSU alumni football ticket lottery. Last year OSU started charging more per ticket on "premiere" games with Wisconsin. This year Va Tech and Michigan are being considered premiere games. Va Tech is 116 per ticket, UM 156 per ticket. All other games are 85 per ticket.

Crazy, but they'll still sell these games out.

They would still sell them out even at double those prices...

At what point do you think they'd not sell-out? What would it take for people to say "Whoa, that's too much to pay for a ticket" and it doesn't end up selling out? They seemed to have a lot of backlash for the Spring Game and realized $20/ticket was too much and they turned around and dropped it a day before. Just curious if anyone thinks they'll ever overprice themselves and have the same kind of thing happen during regular season games.

Was this unexpected, or had there been rumblings? Either way, it sucks.

Rumblings started when he decided to visit Auburn.

Losing Edwards himself wasn't much of a loss, but some believed he could help recruit Holland to Columbus, which was a long shot at best.

Rumblings started the day he committed to osu. Everyone around him and osu said he visited and committed. Was always thought to be very soft. In fact I think he almost decomitted a week later. I love recruiting, but anyone who commits before the summer is close to being over should be considered a very soft commitment. Just look at Michigan the last few years. Had the nation's top classes heading into summer, and then played like shit and lost some. Or filled their spots and guys blew up and they didn't have room. Osu will he just fine.

For a huge OOC game (not sure Virginia Tech qualifies at all), Michigan or even the other top team like Wisconsin or Michigan State, you could probably get 3-400 a ticket.

Sure, you would obviously have a large majority of tickets that are given to preferred alums, family, friends, students and opponents wouldn't be that costly, but some of the premiere season tickets for many would get sold to someone willing to pay.

Va tech is easily the most overrated program in the country. But if it's considered a huge OOC game for Bama and be legit...then it has to be the same for osu.

And those tickets for va tech will easily be 200+ night games in the shoe are fucking crazy. I paid 400 for the usc game and even though we lost, it was worth every cent. The shoe was incredible that night. I had an elderly couple in front of us that was screaming and jumping up and down with the students. I actually have video of it on an old sd card. I gotta find that.

It's all I have gone to the last few years. Nebraska two years ago and Wisconsin last, night games are just nuts. I'm hoping I go to VT this season but might take the gf to another lesser game and then a few buddies and me are definitely heading up to Lansing this year

Meanwhile, how does Wisconsin avoid playing Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Penn State?

They won't go undefeated in B1G play. B1G is going to be tough again this year; such a deep and gritty conference.
