Well shit, I guess we will have to settle with JT, Burrows, and Gibson for QBs.

Let him go there. Ohio State will be winning national titles while LSU is losing bowl games against Notre Dame.

S - Powell

Bold = returning starter

You will be hard pressed to find a team that returns more Starters, or a team with fewer question marks.

I've been saying it all year... next year is the year to watch-out for. This year has just been icing on the cake.
I wouldn't count out Damon Webb opposite Apple. I think it will be between him and Conley. Reeves hasn't been good enough to start yet, he probably isn't going to be.

Can we please go back to all the JT vs Braxton discussion. I want to gloat.

JK.

The future is so bright it's insane. I like Webb to beat out Latimore next year and I honestly think Erik Smith will beat out Tyvis Powell. Going to be an insanely good team.

I think Smith will see the field a lot next year, but would be shocked if it's in place of Powell. Probably more in the Nickel situations.

OSU will go into the season next year with 2 legitimate Heisman candidates, whomever the QB is and Zeke.

Throughout history, who has been the closest tandem in Heisman voting? I was actually thinking about this the other day, how awesome it would be if, say, JT and Zeke were 1 & 2, and the winner (by votes) brought the other up and said he demanded it be split.

I'm guessing Reggie Bush and Matt Leinart since Leinart had won it the previous year. Don't know how high up Leinart finished though.

In 2005 Bush was first with 2541 points and Leinart was 3rd with 797 points. A difference of 1744 points. I think they were definitely the highest 2 finishers.

In 1994 Kijana Carter finished 2nd with 901 points and teammate Kerry Collins finished 4th with 639 points. A difference of 262 points so they were closer.

In 2003 Leinart finished 6th with 127 points and Mike Williams finished 8th with 18 points,a difference of 109 points. They weren't really up for winning, but that is the closest I found. (I didn't go through all the years because while they are definitely closer they weren't close to winning so it didn't seem relevant)

Just for fun, I'm still looking.

1944
#2 Glenn Davis, army, 287 points
#3 Doc Blanchard, army, 237 points
#8 Doug Kenna, army, 56 points

1945
#1 Doc Blanchard, army, 860 points
#2 Glenn Davis, army, 638 points

1946
#1 Glenn Davis, army, 792 points
#4 Doc Blanchard, army, 267 points
#5 Arnie Tucker, army, 257 points

Pretty cool to have 3 of the top 5 vote getters

So there you go, 10 points between teammates.

I think the crux of ETB's question though was closest between a Heisman winner and a teammate.

My buddy can get face value tickets in section 438 through his work and I'm thinking I may just pull the trigger on them. Looks like it's about at the goal line so I'm thinking I'll just do it.

I agree. It's a little difficult to compare because of the different number of voters

1945 - 2105 total points
#1 Doc Blanchard, 860 points, 40%
#2 Glenn Davis, 638 points, 30%
Combined points, 1498, 71%

2005 - 5291 total points
#1 Reggie Bush, 2541 points, 48%
#3 Matt Leinart, 797 points, 15%
combined points, 3337, 63%

$450. Better than anything on Stubhub right now for where they're at so I think we're doing it.

Yeah, had a few people today tell me that is what they paid for the tix in the upper deck with their connections.
Heck, why not. May never get there again.
