10 Cloverfield Lane

Honest to God the movie was a 9/10 until the last 10 minutes...now the movie is a 5/10. The ending ruined the whole movie.

I didn't see anything wrong with the ending. I think John Goodman is a very underrated actor. He's very good here.

Bridge of Spies. Solid movie, but no way better than Spotlight. Very slow, and awful choice for Best Supporting Actor over Sly. Not even close.

10 Cloverfield Lane

****SPOILER ALERT****

Really? You guys actually liked the "oh, aliens really are attacking and then she goes all Terminator on them?" The movie would have been great had they left it as a psychological thriller and she just got "out", or EVEN gets out and sees aliens and either movie ends or she dies. But the whole "oh my God the crazy guy was right! ALIENS!!!!" and then female terminator on them just made the ending of a serious psychological thriller go into the absurd.

Sure did. Did you watch the first movie? I never expected it to be just a psychological thriller. Why would they tie it into the franchise if that had been the plan? She was the world's greatest girl scout the whole movie, and then she is just supposed to give up and be eaten by a monster right when she gets out? To me, that would have been a shitty ending.

Never saw the first movie, probably the reason I lost the context, didn't know there was a first one.

I also watched Trainwreck this weekend and it was terrible. My wife loved it so I'm chalking it up as another movie that maybe just mostly women find funny.
MY wife and I saw trainwreck when it first came out...the only reason we did not leave is because we had a baby sitter and we paid to be there...it was awful.

Finally watched The Theory of Everything. 8/10. Eddie Redmayne is so good in every thing he does.

Also, the whole time I was just thinking how crazy it would be to be as smart as Stephen Hawking. Insanity.

Agreed. The ending was a little weak.

Still thought it was excellent overall though...I think 8-8.5/10 is legit.

I just watched the trailer for Sausage Fest. I feel like I'm going to either love the movie or completely hate it, and I have no idea which.

edit: I guess it's actually called Sausage Party. I just saw "should have called it Sausage Fest" comments.

Watched Batman v Superman tonight.

I can see why people don't like it, but I thought it was good. Affleck is a badass Batman, Wonder Woman is great, Eisenberg steals the show as Lex and the fight scenes are great. The ending was surprising, so no spoilers here. The first 45 minutes are sluggish, tons of dialogue and small doses of action... I guess it makes sense because there's a huge story going on, but still..

Overall, I say 7.5/10

How would you compare his Batman to Bale's?

Affleck is brutal. He's a dark presence in the movie, it's awesome watching him hunt down people and violently beat them down.

The no-killing rule has no place in this movie.

No spoilers.. there is a scene where Batman has to save a secondary character (shocker), it's creepy the way he stalks his prey.

I'm hoping the negative reviews temper my expectations enough that I can enjoy it.

I saw Batman vs Superman tonight. The action was pretty decent but the plot was kinda meh. I give it 6/10. I saw online someone said if you liked the transformers movies you'll like this and I think that's about right.

Took the kids to see Bat vs Super. Overall better than the more recent DC comic movies, and better than most of the solo Marvel ones (Thor, Hulk, original Cap, etc).

Bale was a better Bat but even though I can't stand Affleck he was better than pretty much everyone else not named Bale.

And to be honest the introduction of Wonderwoman at the end stole the show.

Overall 7/10.
