Shutter Island - 9/10. Great movie. Love a good Scorsese twist.

I've gotta go through and see what major DiCaprio movies I missed and watch them. This guy is an outstanding actor.

If you have not seen them yet, then I highly recommend What's Eating Gilbert Grape and the Basketball Diaries

The Aviator is my personal favorite DiCaprio performance. Come in with the milk. Come in with the milk. He murdered the role of Howard Hughes and deserved the Oscar to go alongside the Golden Globe he earned for the film. He completely absorbed that character.

Really the only Dicaprio film over the past 15 years that I didn't care for was Body of Lies. It felt more direct-to-video than typical DiCaprio blockbuster, at least to me. I still have yet to see Revolutionary Road or What's Eating Gilbert Grape, but since Leo was like 5 in the latter it's not high on my list.

It's his best performance, IMO. I know people always say that when an actor plays a role which requires some mental issues and the like. But he is awesome in that movie. Also kne of Depps better roles.

He was 19 when What's Eating Gilbert Grape was released. It's a fantastic movie. Watch it.

If you need more incentive, he was nominated for an Academy Award for his performance, and it has a 7.8/10 on IMDB and an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Yeah, Gilbert Grape is a good one.

The Aviator is one of my favorite movies of all-time. You gotta watch that yesterday, o-trap.

Yeah, that frequently seems to be the case, but is often warranted as well. My favorite performances by Russell Crowe (A Beautiful Mind) and Gwyneth Paltrow (Proof) were both characters dealing with mental illness. Proof, by the way, is an awesome movie that many people seem to have not seen. One of Anthony Hopkins' best performances as well.

I knew he was nominated for an Oscar, but for whatever reason thought he was in elementary school at the time. Lol. I'm not real good with math, apparently. The fact that he was almost 20 definitely peaks my interest in the film much more and I will have to check it out. Depp is an actor I enjoy as well in the right role.

Wasn't a big movie-goer for most of my life.

Completely agree, we bought it because it was on the discount rack. Had trouble watching the entire film, and it has Crowe co-starring and Ridley Scott directing. Not sure what happened with that production. It just seemed out of sorts.

Gilbert Grape is a good film, but I think Leo's best work is in The Aviator.

He's built a strong resume. My favorite is This Boy's Life. It was really his coming out party as a major Hollywood player. He acted alongside DeNiro and held his own completely. A great film all the way around.

I also concur with those recommending What's Eating Gilbert Grape. It's a great film. DiCaprio is outstanding. However I think Johnny Depp's performance is tops in that one. It's my favorite of his roles by far.

Took 3 sittings but finished Hangover, Part III. Awful, ruined the first film. For a comedy there wasn't any humor. 2/10,

I watched Road House yesterday for the 50th time in the last 25 years. If there's a better 'bad' movie, I've yet to find it.

WESLEY: That was my grandfather.
DALTON: Looks like an important man.
WESLEY: He was an asshole.

It is sad. I will forever be a fan of his for this film alone.

Took a break from all the DiCaprio movies and watched MI: Ghost Protocol. I'd seen it before, but damn, I forgot how awesome that movie was. - 9/10

Not a movie, but is relatable to this thread a little bit as this man's story was made into a movie, Lone Survivor. My brother got some free tix to the Patriots Tour last night. When he got there he and his buddy didnt want to sit in their seats so they started walking around the theatre place and ended up backstage with Marcus Luttrell and they traded stories for awhile. He said the event was pretty cool and impressive, and it takes alot to make an impression on him.

Patriot's Tour is in Cleveland and Columbus this weekend.

Fruitvale Station - 7.5/10. Fantastic performance from Michael B. Jordan. I actually liked the movie more than I thought I would. I was led to believe they tried to portray Oscar Grant as an angel, but I completely disagree. They made it clear that he recently lost his job and had been in and out of prison. Despite all of that, he did not deserve to die on that platform, and I thought the movie brought all of that together very well.
