To me, this is an obvious shootout..... Another close one with 75+ being scored. I haven't seen the over/under, but I figure it's gotta be high.

MSU won't get into a shootout. I will either be close and low scoring, or an OSU blowout.

No shoot out and no blow out. 4 Qtrs of old style slobber knock football with the toughest team left standing at the end...and Hyde gives us the advantage to be that team.

I agree with this. But I have a feeling(maybe it's just gas) that OSU pulls away in the 4th.

What is low scoring to you? I can see a score like 24-17 possibly. I think that is about as low as it will be. As good as MSU defense is, I just can't see them holding this OSU offense down enough to win this game. That is, unless OSU beats themselves with turnovers. OSU is only +2 on season on turnovers while MSU is +12 I believe. So that could be big in this game. I also can't imagine this OSU defense getting ripped again as they did vs UM. I expect them to come out with a chip on their shoulder this week. The MSU offense is mediocre at best. I think the game will be close and I see OSU pulling away late for a 10+pt win. Something in area of 27-17, 34-17 maybe.

MSU has a shit O and an amazing D. OSU is the exact opposite. It will come down to who's shit side of the ball plays better and I'm just not going to bet against UM. I think OSU wins like 31-27.

I'm thinking something like 42-17, 42-21, 38-17...something like that. A comfortable Ohio State win. Their defense is good, but they've racked up impressive numbers against offenses that aren't even in the same stratosphere as us. As long as we don't turn the ball over, it shouldn't be that close.

OSU doesn't have a shitty D by the way, it's not great either but it's not horrible. We have a really good run defense. Lead the country in sacks. Our secondary isn't great, but they can turn you over. Not as bad as we looked against Michigan. I've been saying it Saturday, we didn't get torched by Michigan because we have a bad defense, we got torched because Gardener played REALLY well and their coaches dialed up plays that they haven't dialed up all year.

I blame most of our defensive issues on the coaches and scheme. Aside from Pitt Brown, I believe the talent is there.

Agreed. Injuries play a pretty big role too. Pitt Brown is garbage.

I guess shit probably wasn't the right word but if MSU is driving in the 4th for the win I wouldn't have much faith in the D to make the stop they need.

If we make it to that point, then anything can happen. I agree, I won't be thrilled about our defense having to win us the game.

Any given Saturday. I just don't see them slowing down our offense enough to have that chance.

Eh, to be fair our D has stepped up to end games before. NW our D made a play late to seal it. And against UM they waited till the last play, but they got the INT to seal it (would have loved an INT on the drive and not having to drag it out to the 2 pt conversion).

Our defense has been downright bad a few times this year, but they have also shown they can play well. Hopefully our D takes a step in the right direction against MSU.

Agreed. I'm not saying they couldn't get it done, but it definitely wouldn't be the most comfortable scenario.

I keep saying it over and over, pass rush has to be the best it's been all season, Cook will panic and push his throws if he's pressured. But if he gets the time Gardner was getting, he can make plays from the pocket. Tackling hadn't been an issue until last Sat, but we can't have another day like that.

Fickell's lack of ability to make adjustments is deeply troubling. I'll give Borges credit for the misdirection scheming in the 1st half, but Fickell HAS to adjust to it in the second half. They kept killing us with it. When one of Michigan's biggest, if not the biggest, plays of the game (the pass to Toussaint to set up the TD) is the same exact misdirection you got snakebitten by the 1st half, then that's completely on the coordinator.

I wonder if Urban has coach's meetings without Fickell to scheme ways to get rid of him nicely.

And this is puzzling because as much as I hated "Jimmy the Liar" his coaching staffs did seem to have an ability to make quality adjustments at halftime...and Fickell was a major part of those staffs.
