I use to watch the shield with a couple friends and they were so engrossed with the show they didn't notice it either. I would have to play it back to them and point it out.

I used to think The Shield was the greatest show ever until I watched The Wire.

Been binging on The Pacific. Great mini series. DOesnt match up to Band of Brothers, but that was unrealistic to think it could.

Different parts of the war. I thought it was only slightly worse. So guess, technically, it didn't live up to it. But it was .1 worse on a rating scale IMO. Both are so fucking good.

I tried binge watching Dexter and the story just progressed too damn slow.

I was told it improves in later seasons, but I got about 7 episodes into season 1 and was finished.

Exactly! Just slightly less but still amazing.

One thing for me that is fucking stupid that kinda bothered me is how they tried to mirror the BoB in the setup of the eps, long intro, etc. Shouldnt matter and I know they were just doing what was working but it was just something I didnt quite like (kinda like when a sequal of a movie tries the same format style) but the story, the action....excellent. May be more action that BoB.

Too much male nudity though...that is a turn off at least!

I think the open and everything was because it's like a series. A tv series has the same open, and while this was a new mini-series, it was a continuation in a sense.

Male nudity always sucks, but you get over it. And yeah, the action was non stop for a good portion of The Pacific. I know some people really enjoyed the fact the main characters remained at 3 instead of constantly changing like BoB. I didn't mind either way.

I actually heard Dexter got worse in the later seasons. I've watched the first 2 and thought they were pretty good.

This especially seasons 3-5. But it did have worst finale ever! (ok not really but it was pretty bad).

Yeah, Julia stiles and john Lithgow were tremendous adds to the show for their respective seasons. Lithgow as the trinity killer was the best season ever.

The Wire had two of the greatest seasons ever....as a series, as a whole, The Shield was better and more consistent (really splitting hairs over easily my two favorite shows). Pure quality and adrenalin from start to finish, and it never dragged or tortured us with "set-up" episodes.

Also, if people list their #1 dramas, it's mostly sympathetic criminals/murderers/etc....Vic Mackey was all those things, but he was also the only true anti-hero.

Needs to get away from the "bad soap opera" it's become and return to what made it great in season 1.

I'm only halfway through season 2, but the part that bothers me was that Mike told Trevor and Jenny about his situation.

Kind of off-topic.....but since we were talking about The Shield, did anyone watch the new show Chicago PD? I thought it was pretty good, although looks to be a complete rip-off of The Shield.

I like it, but I'm a Chicago Fire fan, so I think the crossover aspect is pretty cool.

Same here.

I hope they don't over do the crossover aspect though.

Worth the watch, I immediately felt smarter.
Did you start tying your shoes differently? I watched that vid because I had a few minutes to spare and it was only 3 minutes. Blew my mind and works wonders. No more double knots.

Funny you brought that up.

I've actually been tying them the way he does it, except I start opposite from him. I loop the other side first and the end result is the strong knot.

So after watching it, I'm sitting there with a shoe and I'm following his instructions, but not exactly and the outcome was the "weak" knot...where it lines up parallel with the shoe. I did this like 10 times, racking my my brain, like WHY CAN'T I FIGURE THIS OUT!?!

End result, I've been doing it correctly since age 4.

I really enjoyed the Memory one and The Happy Secret to Better Work...that guy was good.

Any fans of Shameless that have Showtime on Demand, check your OD if you don't want to wait until Sunday to watch new episodes. They are putting them on their 5-7 days in advance. Accidentally found it and watched the premiere last week when I went to watch finale of last season. I know they have done this in the past with Showtime shows. I think it was 2 years ago with Shameless, last season with Californication and the final season of Dexter.
