I like the fact that he runs an adaptive defense. Doesn't really have a "base" D.

Sounds like we might have our new head coach tonight or tomorrow

I could've sworn last year our FO and staff said we were going to see a "hybrid" defense. Pretty sure I just saw a 3-4 without using our best personnel for most of the year.se-alum;1570512 wrote:I like the fact that he runs an adaptive defense. Doesn't really have a "base" D.

Im actually hoping we hire this guy. Kind of excited, he has a good track record of producing solid defenses. I just don't want offenses like the Jets. Kubiack for OC? Im actually pissed they let Norv Turner walk. If they had a plan from the beginning knowing this is who they wanted they should have kept Norv. Then Norv would have total control of this offense, no Chud limiting him.

No way Norv was staying after Chud was fired.shook_17;1570522 wrote:Im actually hoping we hire this guy. Kind of excited, he has a good track record of producing solid defenses. Yeah since it looks like we are hiring a defense guy, not matter who they select, I'm very curious as to who will be our OC. I want no part of Shanahan, but wouldn't be too upset with Kubiak.

money talks. Also saw some article (don't remember where) but it stated Haslam is willing to spend a lot of that cap money this year. We will see if it comes true.

Rex Ryan called the defensive plays in 2009 and 2010, and started sharing it his last 2 years there.like_that;1570503 wrote:The 4 years he coached with the Jets, their defensive ranks:

And I believe they were a top 10 defense in Buffalo this year.
We hired the Pat Shurmur of defensive coordinators.

Will you STFU with your QQ. Seriously go root for Oakland. Pat Shurmur never had an offense in the top ten? If Mike is the same why did buffalo have a top 10 defense this year?

How long did it take you to realize that? (I've been on the bandwagon for a month or so now, so it took a while for me).like_that;1570548 wrote:Lol I'm convinced iqqy doesn't even watch any football.

2nd year in a row now we will have hired a guy that no other NFL team even interviewed for their head coach opening.
Speaks volumes.

The dude reads twitter headlines and when he sees something that he can possibly bitch about he finds his way to this site. Ever notice how iqqy was nowhere to be found when the browns were 3-2?

The funny thing is there are no official reports that he was hired lol. Also every expert chiming in (read: not QQers like iggy who have no idea wtf they are talking about) says he would be a great hire. I wasn't a fan of him when I heard his name thrown around because I automatically thought "why the fuck would we interview the Bills DC?" After doing some research, I found way more positive than negative on him.
Also iqqy has no idea who called the plays for the jets in 2009 and 2010. Why the fuck would Rex Ryan go from calling the plays in the two years they made the AFC championship to giving up those duties? That doesn't even make sense. Lol iqqy.

I absolutely watch.
Unlike most of you I am able to see that as long as Joe Banner is here nothing good is going to happen, which has severely dampened my enthusiasm.
This hire screams of a guy that desperately wants to be a head coach and knew no one else was ever going to be interested. Not unlike Chud.
When you have Joe Banner and Mike Lombardi in charge though I guess this is what you come to expect.

I like Pettine the more I read about him, however, I feel like if the Browns really wanted him, this process would've been over weeks ago.

Where is the NFL version of the Stepian rule when you need one? All we need now is J. Haslam to get sentenced for 2-10 LOL.

So was this a false alarm?
