9/7 Toledo ended at 7-5 in MAC, won 38-23, dropped from the others receiving votes in usa coaches poll.
9/21 @Indiana ended at 5-7 BIG, won 45-28, back into the usa coaches poll others receiving with 2 on week 4 standings.
9/28 Arkansas St. ended at 7-5 Sun Belt won 41-19, 86 votes in others on usa coaches poll week 6.
10/5 @ Vandy 8-4 SEC won 51-28, 86 votes in others recevingin week 7.
10/12 @ Georgia 8-4 SEC won 41-26, JUMP to 14th in usa coaches poll! ***************** They are barely on the radar preseason, slowly climb in the others receiving votes category, beat a OVER inflated Georgia team and BAM 14th! They jump 12 spots, no other team above or below them jumped even close to that high, +6 was the next highest. There is where the SEC bias comes in.
10/19 Florida 4-8 SEC, won 36-17, jumped 7 spots to #7 in usa coaches poll. Only Auburn jumped more spots with 9, Baylor also jumped 7 spots. 7 spots for beating Florida.
10/26 South Carolina, 10-2 SEC, Lost 27-24 dropped 3 spots to 10. Texas Tech loses to Oklahoma and drops 8 spots.
11/2 Tenn, 5-7 SEC, Won 31-3. Up 1 to 9 spot usa coaches poll, Mich St. jumps 5, all others 1.
11/9 Kentucky 2-10 SEC, Won 48-17. Up 1 to #8, all others 2 or 3 jumps with win.
11/23 Ole Miss 7-5 SEC, Won 24-10. Stay at 8, due to Auburn meteoric rise from the bottom! lol
11/30 Tex A&M 8-4 SEC, Won 28-21. Jump 2 to #6

Auburn doesnt hit the usa coaches poll until week 4 on 9/15 in others receving. Week 6 still in same slot. Week 9 they are 17. Week 10 they are 11.

That is why I dont like preseason voting! The SEC is by and large the BEST conference in college football. I wont deny that. My argument is that they receive over inflated preseason rankings, coupled with a meteoric rise by those not voted on as they replace those over inflated earlier picks, see Florida and LSU.

Dont have rankings until week 4 or 5 and then lets see where everyone stacks up.
And yes I have watched Mizz play, they are a very good team, but they are not world beaters like Alabama has been the last 4 years.
That may be the best and most accurate post I have ever read on the OC.

Not taking anything away from them. They are obviously ONE of the best. The best? I think that is very debatable.
I agree, it is very debatable, that was just my opinion that they are the best team in CFB.

This is a great post and I agree with pretty much all of it. I just happen to think the SEC has earned the bias they receive in the polls. I in no way agree with the people who think Auburn or Mizzou should jump OSU though.

What has the SEC done to earn any bias? If FSU wins the championship, should Duke, Clemson, and Maryland start out as top ten teams? LOL

Also, what has the bias in the polls even done for the SEC this season? They were going to have 2 teams in BCS games no matter what and no SEC team will even be in the NCG unless OSU or FSU loses.

If Maryland, Clemson, and Duke all start winning/making NCGs then yes they should receive a bias.

So really Alabama and Auburn are the only ones that have earned any bias. Nice try. How's Florida doing this year?

Not since '07. Aren't they the only school in NCAA history to be SHUT OUT in a NCG? Honestly, I think Illinois/Indiana could manage that.

One of the more amusing statistics about SEC being so tough is that Florida has 4 wins.

Three of those wins came from the mighty SEC while they only got one OOC win (Toledo). Granted they do play Miami and FSU. But still an amusing statistic nonetheless.

You should have listed the three wins for even more hilarity: Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas. And listed their pre-season ranking: #10. Also took them to week #9 to drop from the Top 25. I mean LOL.

Speaking of Arkansas.

I hope Bielema is enjoying himself down there.

LOL at an entire conference earning a bias, and LOL at ranking being determined based on the conference in which a team plays. If OSU had the same schedule they do now, but had a SEC affiliation, they'd be ranked #1, easy.

All you need to know about the SEC this season, Florida lost to Georgia Southern. Then they barely lost to LSU, Georgia, and South Carolina while getting beat bad by Vanderbilt.

Outside of Alabama, the SEC was NOT that good this season.

I agree with this. I think you earn the conference bias by winning the ncg 7 years in a row. Also agree that there is no way auburn should jump an undefeated osu team

South Carolina beat Clemson rather easily. Im sure you think Clemson is bad too which leads me to ask this question. Who do you actually think is good this season?

I don't think they're a top 5 team but I think theyre definitely in the 13-15 range.

Clemson literally had their ass handed to them by the 2 best teams they played. Blowouts. 15-20 at best IMO.
