Why does Dover continue scheduling teams like Cleveland East and Max Hayes? You would think with Dover's consistant competitive reputation they could schedule some tougher non-conference opponents.

From what I heard they have a hard time finding teams that want to accept the open dates. I also wish they would get some more competitive games.

If you're going to play teams that you would beat 100/100 times, why not get Tusky Valley, Garaway, or Strasburg on the schedule? Seriously would they be any worse than this team? I'm a DHS alumni, but playing these teams multiple times a year for well over a decade is embarassing. Anyone remember Medina Christian?

Yes, gotta agree with all of you, scheduling teams like this doesn't help either team.

I agree. There are plenty of teams closer to home that would provide better competition. Add to the schools you listed an occasional Triway or Hiland. Bigger crowds, nice atmosphere, how can you go wrong. How about some top notch D1 or D2 schools? How does Hiland with a similar reputation as Dover, schedule Benadictine this year and in past years get Dunbar? The Dover AD needs to get more agressive.

FYI, it's typically the coaching staffs that arrange the non-conference schedule. The AD usually does the finalizing (i.e., ensuring there are no gym conflicts; sending and signing the contracts; etc.) after getting the "okay" or "go ahead" from the coaches.

Nice to see the Dover players beat the teams they are playing and let others wonder why they are playing the teams they are.

I believe Youngstown Ursuline and Wooster are on the schedule later this month.
