Mileage per day … walking</SPAN>

Over the past week I’ve been keeping track of how far I walk per day. I average 5.3 miles per day.</SPAN>
I was somewhat surprised but after thinking about it I do walk a lot in the warehouse and when I park my truck, I park far away from other cars or trucks, just a walk to my mail box is 300 feet so it adds up.
</SPAN>

I know when I’m in Chicago I double that in a heart beat or more like 15 miles. .</SPAN>
Average for America is 2.2 miles I think with exception like Chicago/NY. </SPAN>

So how far do you walk (estimating) in a day?</SPAN>

My Jawbone says i walk between 6,000 and 11,000 steps a day. It depends on the weather if I go for a walk during lunch or what type of work out I do.

15 miles a day in Chicago? Seems very high.

The last I recorded it was around 4-6 a day and I don't have a vehicle. My work commute has shortened so less now.

Whoah! That's a lot. That's around 4 hours of uninterrupted walking at* a healthy pace.

I used the pedometer on my iPod nano at the time. I'm sure there are numerous apps out there now.

no doubt. Where the eff are you walking in Chicago to total 15 miles?

That's like walking from (South side) where the White Sox play to (North Side) Wrigley Field. You could be in Evanston (not Chicago according to some) and walk to Lincoln Park zoo (Chicago) in only 10 miles.

Instead of buying a new gun every other week go spend some of your hard earned money on a Garmin.

Hope this helps.

I'd fathom the only people who walk more than 1-2 miles are people who work in hospitals and are on their feet all day.

Never been shopping with my wife or visit Chicago &#8230; she has to buy and see everything in a 48 hour span.
First: Where my daughter lives and the subway is 20 minute walk, and then the shopping begins in the Michigan Ave. from on end to the other both sides, back to the subway to the apartment to drop off purchases, back to the subway or dinner in some other area of Chicago, catch another subway and then to a Broadway show and back to the apartment. This is a pattern that start at 8:00 in the morning and ends sometime around 11:30. The next day it to another area for shopping and hell begins again. My saving grace is the daughter continues the shopping frenzy and I take off on my own which at some point ends at a local bar. Now that I don&#8217;t drink this will be a problem&#8230;

I walk/run 4 miles every day at the Metropark after work, so I'm factoring this into my 5-6 mpd.

I have a Nike fuel band and I walk about 5 miles a day, two of which are power walked and the other three just walking around throughout the day.

Are you implying that because I’m a prosperous citizen but a disabled veteran I should be denied medical VA services?</SPAN>

For over 40 years I have paid my own insurance and my families when I could have used the VA plan.</SPAN>
I never when to the VA for 30 plus years, paid for my own eye examinations, glasses, contacts and prostheses. At the age of 55 I was required to come into the VA for a physical. Agent Orange was found and so was cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and few other goodies. VA indicated that this was the effect of Agent Orange and care and treatment would be provided by the VA at no cost.. I paid for my cancer surgery and treatment, few years after that another case of cancer again I took care of it and the medical payments with my personal insurance coverage. As of now the VA the only medication the VA provides is diabetes and cholesterol and I’m working to become healthier to get off medication. </SPAN>
