Yes, we all know the defense has problems, but loling when people point out specific issues because you have no clue about anything the defense is doing is downright stupid. I've always been a Fickell fan, but at this point, I have to question how much he is helping. Not only has the defense been suspect, but it's his specific position that is the weak link.

My point is you don't need to play the sport to know if a defense, offense, or the whole team in general looks like shit. Perry was really developing and Grant was starting to show flashes. He developed guys like Hawk, Carpenter, Lauranaitis, Rolle and so on in the past. I have always been a big Fickell fan. I realize he has developed some great players in the past for OSU. I'm not discounting what he's done. I thought his 1 year as interim HC was rough for him, but it would have been rough for anyone. But since Meyer has taken over, the defense has been a sore spot. I realize it's not ALL on Fickell. Okay LJ? I realize that. I concede that fact. But you're one of maybe 5 people in the world who will continue to support Fickell as the DC of this team next year. 35 points to Illinois? OSU has the 10th ranked total defense (compared to Northwestern's 74th) in the nation. Lets not let a bad game get in the way of facts.

McCarron is prone to mistakes when pressured. He doesn't get pressured much though.
I think the bigger issue is that FSU has a defense that can shut down OSU. Alabama does not. Make Alabama play from behind, put pressure on McCarron. Game over.
