I've always been a Fickell fan, but at this point, I have to question how much he is helping. Not only has the defense been suspect, but it's his specific position that is the weak link.

Perry was really developing and Grant was starting to show flashes. He developed guys like Hawk, Carpenter, Lauranaitis, Rolle and so on in the past. No reason that would be any different now.

I have always been a big Fickell fan. I realize he has developed some great players in the past for OSU. I'm not discounting what he's done. I thought his 1 year as interim HC was rough for him, but it would have been rough for anyone. But since Meyer has taken over, the defense has been a sore spot. I realize it's not ALL on Fickell. Okay LJ? I realize that. I concede that fact. But you're one of maybe 5 people in the world who will continue to support Fickell as the DC of this team next year. 35 points to Illinois? Come the fuck on. That shouldn't happen.

OSU has the 10th ranked total defense (compared to Northwestern's 74th) in the nation. Lets not let a bad game get in the way of facts.

I think they can handle Alabama. FSU has too much of a passing offense for this crappy secondary. They would have to hope our pressure can get Winston to make mistakes.

McCarron is prone to mistakes when pressured. He doesn't get pressured much though.

I think the bigger issue is that FSU has a defense that can shut down OSU. Alabama does not. Make Alabama play from behind, put pressure on McCarron. Game over.
