Believe what you want, but he is so adamantly against it, I would honestly believe that he's never dont anything like that. He def "plays the game" with boosters, etc (hence why I'm here), but he certainly has never paid for a recruit to come to OSU. He'd quit before he did that.SportsAndLady;1642371 wrote:Agree with your second paragraph. To believe matta has never done anything slimy is pure ignorance. You can't get to where Matta is with being a 100% angel.
Now, matta definitely seems like one of the good guys in college basketball. But come on, nothing at all shady?

Not saying the guy is a complete angel...but seriously, besides him saying he wasn't going to leave X (which all coaches do btw), what shadey thing, negative thing can you dig up on the guy in over 20yrs of being a head coach? When he came to OSU, after the debacle with O'Brien...there was no way in hell he could have even attempted to cheat. Yet he brought in that amazing class that went to the title game. If there was a time when someone would question...that would have been it. Of course, I also thought O'Brien was a stand up guy..so yes, anything is possible.SportsAndLady;1642371 wrote: Now, matta definitely seems like one of the good guys in college basketball. Goodluck Okonoboh was never committed to OSU. Unless he was committed to them and literally lied to the rest of the world. Which, I would find hard to believe considering he didn't end up there.
However, there is no question he was paid to go to UNLV.

lol, as soon as I saw his name I thought "He went to UNLV right? *checks Google* Yep, definitely got paid"Laley23;1642882 wrote:Goodluck Okonoboh was never committed to OSU. I followed that recruitment VERY closely. It seemed to be mostly IU, then OSU was close behind. He took a visit to UNLV, which was in the picture, but distant 3rd, and all of a sudden he is committed before the weekend (visit) was over. I mean, lol at people who dont think UNLV is cheating like a mother to get these kids out there (not sure there is anyone who believes that...)Terry_Tate;1642892 wrote:lol, as soon as I saw his name I thought "He went to UNLV right? *checks Google* Yep, definitely got paid"

I know Hanner Perea couldn't play. They wouldn't allow him in the country with a DUI conviction (lol).Midstate01;1642944 wrote:Laley who is playing with the iu team that I saw just lost to Ottawa?

It was all of 2 days. He committed silently to OSU on his official, and then the next day the OSU coaches called his high school coach and the HS coach told them UNLV offered him more. They said they found out later that "offering more" was not merely a better opportunity.

Everyone but our bigs, who are injured and our starting big, Hanner Perea, cant get a work visa lol.Midstate01;1642944 wrote:Laley who is playing with the iu team that I saw just lost to Ottawa?
FWIW, Wisconsin lost to Ottawa last year and Cuse went to OT with them. They arent a bad team at all.
Crean is mixing some line-ups, Stan Robinson is shooting right-handed trying to get away from being a lefty cause he sucks at it lol.
That said, it just looks like another frustrating season lol. But, I am not too worried about this trip and the results.

Should get a new thread started soon but I'm not doing it with this being the first post. Ohio State released their non conference schedule today and wow is it shitty. I hope nobody goes to the games against the shit teams to prove a point. Might only be marginally better than last year which was embarrassingly bad. At least they have at Louisville and neutral against UNC because the rest is trash.

Ohio State gets their heads out of their asses and scheduled a home and home with UConn for 2015 and 2016. They're already playing Kentucky next year and UCLA the year after that as well but hopefully they add some more good matchups instead of 8-10 patsies and just 3 good games.

I honestly dont get why team dont schedule home and homes in basketball. Losses dont hurt really, and a W far outweighs the ramifications of a L.Terry_Tate;1646123 wrote:Ohio State gets their heads out of their asses and scheduled a home and home with UConn for 2015 and 2016. Especially when you are a football school who doesnt need any kind of revenue from basketball.

Mickey Mitchell has decommited from Ohio State. Not much of a surprise with his brother leaving last year but still hurts as he is crazy athletic for his size.

I don't either. What the hell is 8 or 9 games against complete shit teams going to do for the team? I'm fine with 5 or 6 of them to fill the schedule, but schedule some tough games early, make it easy before conference play then that will be brutal in the B1G. Just completely short changes the fans to do it this way.Laley23;1646458 wrote:I honestly dont get why team dont schedule home and homes in basketball. Not a surprise or shock to the coaching staff. And he is in fact continuing to struggle with injuries from what I have heard. Really like what I saw in him, but those injuries do not sound good, back especially.Midstate01;1646553 wrote:If the reports about his back and knees are true, then this may end up a good thing IF they can get ahmad

This can be remedied by reading a few posts to see if your news has already been posted, especially since it's on the same page
