Being a fan of probably one of the most inconsistent mid-major programs in the nation sucks, but after the January UD had I am thrilled that they actually made the tournament, win or lose. I would rather lose in the first round of the tournament every year than make decent runs in the NIT.
Go Flyers! That's where I got my M.B.A. Excellent school and excellent program.
My cousin got his Ph.D. from Ohio State, so naturally we made a wager on the game. If Ohio State wins, I am going to put the money in an antique piggy bank and let him figure out how to get it out.
He and I both had the same impression of our teams-- both have been very inconsistent. Dayton beat two ranked teams on the road and lost to another by one point. We lost to Southern Cal in overtime. Yet Dayton also lost to some poor teams and lost three times to St. Joe's. Ohio State has gone through more or less the same kind of season. Either team could be in the top ten right now if they had just played up to their ability.
I have to disagree with you on calling the A-10 a mid-major conference. Mid-majors don't put four teams in the NCAA's. The A-10 is a major conference and has beaten many highly-ranked teams. I expect our teams to make some noise in this year's tournament. Who know? Dayton might beat OSU and I'll get some money from my cousin!
