If its the SEC, MSU would drop 2 spots and now have a 'good loss' on their resume.

I agree with pretty much all of your post but have to add a corollary. It's not an anti-OSU agenda that's the problem here (MSU being ranked too low); it's the pro-SEC agenda that's the problem. You speak to the artificial inflation that comes with the beginning of the year, but you're not addressing the artificial inflation that occurs throughout the season due to the pro-SEC bias.

You have mediocre teams beating each other and instead of it coming out normal, it comes out like this: #24SEC1 beats #12 SEC2....SEC1 goes to 14 and SEC2 goes to 15, and they're in great position to move up easier (like someone else said), whereas in any other conference #12 drops well beyond #15.

Ok, maybe there is not a national thing against OSU. But when you have a guy like Mark May, on ESPN, almost weekly ripping OSU...believe and think what you will, it puts a perception out there that doesn't bode well for OSU.
But I agree with the above about pro SEC. Especially this year. On top of that, there is a negative out there about the Big10 based on past history. Add those two together, and you get what we are dealing with.

From schedule alone, I don't think any of the top three have any advantage over one another right now. Now if Bama beats Auburn and Mizzou, I don't see how you can argue to give them one spot.

Now I can argue that beating Michigan State and Wisconsin is better than what FSU has done but it's not clear cut. I think OSU can beat either of those teams.

There are no great teams this year, just a bunch of really good teams.

It's because Clemson got tons of reps for beating a highly overrated Georgia team. Then FSU got transitive reps for beating Clemson. It's all because of that 1 win early in the season that is a hell of a lot less impressive in hindsight but people aren't talking about that.

I'm not B1G defender, but PLEASE. The B1G and the SEC, because of their bowl tie-ins, are constantly playing bowl games that are higher-placed than the conferences that oppose them. Actually, other than the games they play each other (a BCS meeting, Capital One, Outback), almost every other match-up pits an SEC or B1G team who is at least one, if not 2 or 3 (or more) slots lower than their opponent. Here are the ACC bowls...

Chick-Fil-A - ACC 2 vs SEC 5
Russell Athletic - ACC 3 vs AAC 2 (new tie-in)
Sun - ACC 4 vs PAC 12 4
Belk - ACC 5 vs AAC 3 (new tie-in)
Music City - ACC 6 vs SEC 7
Advocare - ACC 7 vs SEC 10
Military - ACC 8 vs C-USA 6

So, other than a match-up with the AAC or C-USA, they are going to get an advantage in every bowl game. Given the strength of the Big East/AAC over the years and that a 6th place C-USA team is almost always a 6-6 team, a 41% winning percentage isn't all that impressive...

As that stat says, in the "major" bowl games, the ACC has basically been every other BCS conference's bitch.

Eh, I dunno. I think an Ohio State vs. FSU national championship would put on a lot of offensive fireworks and be a much more even match-up.

I seriously think Alabama's defense would give Braxton Miller fits all day long. And depending on which Ohio State defense shows up, McCarron could have a field day. Just my honest opinion.

Bottom-line is Auburn has to beat Alabama and Ohio State has to win out to get in...most likely against FSU.

Baylor and Oregon both looked great on the eye test.

We know little about FSU in reality. It's all based off one over hyped early game because of pre-season rankings.

I'm not saying FSU is trash. But I'm not buying in that they are head and shoulders above OSU. They are undefeated so they get credit for that like Alabama and OSU. But I think any of those 3 at this point are all deserving of a shot and I don't believe one has really differentiated themselves to an extent that they should be a shoe in if the other two are undefeated.

THis is the same crap we kept hearing about Oregon, Stanford, Baylor, etc, etc. Then look what happens. All the media darlings get exposed. And its not like these teams lost close or to high ranked teams. Oregon was just blasted, as was Baylor and Stanford has two losses to unranked teams. You probably thought the same about those three teams prior to them getting spanked I am sure.

Get over it dude. Florida State is terrible this year, they've played the worst schedule of any title contender and the ACC is so weak that even if 3 other ACC teams won 10 games, their champion still doesn't deserve a BCS bid.
