They took time away from Akron.

There was 1 second left on that last incomplete pass.
Would have been UM ball with 1 second since it was 4th down there for Akron. Timing issue aside, still kind of curious how that they had conclusive evidence to re-spot back to the 1.

Yeah, I'm not so sure it wasn't a first down. They would've had four cracks at the end zone, provided that they decided to actually manage the clock.

Fuck bloodclaat Nebraska because (according to Big 12 (-2) fans), "they joined the B1G Ten because it is easier to win than the Big 12 (-2)".

I thought it was a 1st and goal, with like 25 seconds, and a timeout left.
Bigger picture, the B1G has still improved the image. Nebraska getting killed and then Michigan almost losing to a 37 point dog is not good.

Conferences no longer matter. Essentially there are appx 12 super programs that are good year in and year out. Then you have teams like aTm, Clemson, OK St that are good for a short stretch then disappear for a few years then get back in the mix. The key is to remain one of the super programs (Bucks are easily in the top 5 ) over the long haul and you will see the play offs with 1 or maybe even 2 losses some years. So quit worrying about the rest of the B1G it's a brave new world folks.

Uhh, yes, their schedule.
For example, Oregon looked more impressive against an SEC team that sucked, while OSU covered, but gave up a lot of points to a bad Cal team.
Oregon would keep a 13-0 OSU team out.
Voters have more faith in Oregon than OSU, if both are unbeaten.

If Oregon is undefeated it means they will have beat Standford along the way, which by default would be better than any win the Buckeyes will have.

There is such little respect nationally for the Big 10 right now that I actually think OSU will be on the outside looking in if more than 2 teams were to finish undefeated.

People have joked about it becoming Ohio State surrounded by MAC level schools, and then you see Akron playing Michigan down to the wire and it is not far from the truth.

The putridity of the conference is just killing the Bucks right now, as there are just no quality or big wins to be had on this schedule no matter how many games they keep winning in a row. The media just isn't impressed because everyone sees how poor the competition is.

Fact will remain that regardless of who impresses on the field, who shows up and spends more cash is who will get the nod. Cal Berkeley looked like fucking The Shoe West Coast...

Voters have more faith in putting Oregon in another championship game over putting urban in his first with Ohio state? Yeah ok..

A BCS team on a 25 game winning streak is not getting shut out of the NC game.

I think it's really that simple.

But beyond that, I really don't think Oregon goes undefeated with a first year HC. Eventually it'll catch up to him once they start playing conference games.

Right now, if you look at schedules, Oregon has a ton of work to do. Alabama and Ohio State, not so much.

Alabama's 2 biggest tests after today will be their final 2 games, @Auburn and likely a rematch with Georgia in the SEC-CG.

Then again, I think the only team in the SEC who can beat Bama is A&M. Georgia doesn't have the D, USC doesn't have the O.

It's gonna be Alabama/Ohio State...

Ohio State better work on remaining undefeated. Giving up that many points to Cal, they play D like that to an actual good team and they won't win.

While true, OSU at full strength is the best offense in the B1G.

Who else has both an offense that can put up 40+ on them, but also hold them?

Idk I've watched all of Oregon's games and they look like the best team in the nation right now easily. Tennessee and Virginia had absolutely no chance of slowing them at all, and Mariota is the 2nd best college player I've seen in the last 5 years behind only Johnny. Oregon is unbelievably good almost

which won't do all that much to prepare them for a game against the SEC or Pac-12 champion if they go undefeated.

I agree. They aren't going to see anyone all year who has the weapons those teams do.
