This isn't so much a political issue (unless of course the crime is white on black) as it is a societal one. Unfortunately liberals don't like to talk about difficult issues, especially if they require painful solutions and the admittance that 40 years of government spending is the root cause of the problem. Government is no substitute for family; government is no substitute for values, government is no substitute for discipline; government is no substitute for a conscience. Liberals can't handle those truths, nor this entire issue; they have been on the wrong side of the argument for far too long.
You can keep obfuscating the issue by throwing around personal attacks and making unfair and erroneous accusations, but there are still a few of us out here who still give a shi* about saving this ship from completely sinking. If you are not up to it, then head on over to the Miley Cyrus thread.
