Like anything else, you can't draw conclusions on the whole based upon these "bishops". In my experience, churches and church going people are okay. The clergy I've known are nothing like those in this piece.

You only get "swindled" if you give in. Who's fault is it if you get "swindled?"

Yours for being dumb enough OR theirs for asking?

Church and Religion are not the same a Faith in The Lord

I'm not perfect, because I'm of the flesh and have weakness, it is my Faith and Belief that makes me better and gives me strength ... Not the Church or the type of Religion those I don't really need ...

More people in America believe in Angels than believe in evolution...right there is a big part of why we are no longer the greatest country in the world.

Fundamental Christians are more dangerous
today in the USA than domestic Moozlums are. When you get on a plane be much more worried about the woman in a gingham gown with the huge cross necklace than the brown guy in the turban.

The Fundy Christians are dangerous because they destroy from within trying to infiltrate religion into our laws, schools, local govts and communications.

Oh yeah, that's probably it.

We don't have to worry about our government and education being messed up unless there is religion involved. Got it.

I love the West Wing episode about school prayer and why it should be banned. It's because it's a way to make kids different

The threat from fundamentalist Christians is based on reality but greatly overstated. The most dangerous Christians are largely under educated and lack wider influence. On an airplane, I'll be much happier next to a bible beater as opposed to a jihadist.

I was using the plane example as a metaphor Winnie...my point being Fundy Christians walk among us like they are the ones calling the shots in this country and the rest of us who actually have a brain should be very concerned about their widespread influence on decision making be done in the US today.

I understood your metaphor. My point is that I don't believe fundamentalists have the influence you suggest. I am reading a series of fictional books to my daughter that were written in the 1880's. In some ways, that society had a much greater fundamentalist influence than today's does. I think bible beaters only harm those who chose to blindly follow. Jihadists are dangerous because they enjoy lopping off heads. So I prefer the former.

So more people believe in a being that hasn't been proven scientifically than those that believe in a theory that hasn't been proven scientifically...and THAT is what is wrong with a America? How about a country so divided over every political topic?

Depends on your definition of fundametal, but name the last time a fundametal hijacked a plane and you might have an argument.
