I just got back from my first barber shop shave. Awesome experience, ridiculously relaxing even though a stranger has a razor blade to your throat. If you've never done it I highly recommend it.

It was $14 and I tipped him $5. It's not something I'll do often but I'll definitely add it to my haircuts a couple times a year.

I have always wanted to get the head and face done this way. I need to go do this once and while.

My barber uses a straight edge every time I get a haircut. He lines my goatee up with it. The hot towel is so relaxing.

Yep. I could've sat in that chair for the entire day.

To tipping or having someone else give me a shave?

I tipped because I don't want to piss off the guy that's going to be using a razor around my neck. :)

Having someone else do it was just a relaxing experience. I'd suggest giving it a shot once.

I don't know what this means because, I'm guessing, I'm not 60.

I do it a couple of times a year. I enjoy the experience but I do think that it is overrated. Everybody should try it at least once though for sure.

$12 for a haircut and the straight razor shave is complimentary at my barber.

That is one hell of a deal if it's the full shave experience. The shave itself was about 45 minutes long.

No razor burn, right? That's why I've wanted to learn to use a straight razor, though I manage (don't get the neck as clean as I'd like as a result).

I've only had a few shaves at the barber shop. Been a long time, but it was nice.

I've got to give a safety razor a shot. Yeah, I know there's a thread.

Yep. I only use a safety razor at home. I'd love to find a decent deal on a nice straight razor and start using one. Those things can get ridiculously expensive.
