I really like Kudi, but he's not that guy.

I will go to the grave saying Eminem is the greatest rapper of all-time.

While I love Cudi, I do agree that Eminem is the GOAT of his generation. No doubt about it.

As for all-time, for me, the conversation starts and ends with The King of New York, Christopher Wallace. Eminem is in my top three, though, along with (as a group) Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. I've taken heat on this site and the old site for praising BTNH as much as I do, but they are fucking legends.

Em has been the best for well over a decade. Even his shit years/albums have produced great stuff. When he is on, he is virtuall untouchable.

And this.

I also have been listening to a lot of the A$AP crew, Kanye, Jay-Z, Action Bronson, Juicy J, Schoolboy, Wale and Kendrick this summer. I am beyond tired of Drake, Wiz,T.I(since he came back), and Rick Ross.

Danny Brown and Childish Gambino are way better live performers. The best rap act I have seen live in order are:
Eminem
Jay Z
Luda (Dude is great live)
Nas
Big Boi

One of the all-time greats, in my view. Dude can kill a beat when in a zone. It might as well have been his name on the cover of Wiz Khalifa's most recent album because Juicy stole the damn show, and he was only on two tracks.

The old Three 6 crew -- Juicy, DJ Paul, Lord Infamous, Koopsta Knicca, Gangsta Boo and Crunchy Black -- would fucking tear any rapper today to tiny little pieces with their demonic early '90s flavor, save for Eminem. They were monsters on the mic, with hard-hitting beats that haven't been heard since and an eerily melodic delivery that only Bone could touch. They really are the Most Known Unknowns. People don't know what they are missing. The End and Chapter 2: World Domination are two of the best albums ever.

With that said, Juicy, you need to get the fuck out of the Taylor Gang immediately. WTF you doin', bro.

It's sad, too, because kids today really do have no idea what Three 6 Mafia used to be.

The only way these "responses" are going to return rap to the glory days is if these rappers actually start murdering each other. And -- fortunately -- that's not gonna happen. When measured up against the vitriol-laced East Coast-West Coast feud of the mid-'90s, where there was actual deep-seated hate between the bi-coastal rappers, these back-and-forth responses today seem like a town hall debate. Lol. I mean, back then, Tupac was rapping in his songs about having fucked Biggie's wife, Faith Evans, and he actually did. The dis tracks back then were based on reality, which is what made the era so amazing. It wasn't just blank threats such as, "Like Elvis, I'm aiming for your fucking pelvis, and I will shoot you in the night with a mask on my face." Yeah, right.

I imagine most of the hip hop acts aren't that great live. We saw Cypress Hill years ago...horrid. Many award shows if they do go live sound pretty poor as well.

I agree most sound terrible live but a few can still sound amazing live. In fact Rolling Stone just put Jay Z 6th on their top 50 live acts. That's ahead of Radiohead, The Black Keys, and Paul McCartney. I don't agree with the list but an example of a rap act that is good live. Here's the list BTW http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/50-greatest-live-acts-right-now-20130731
