A perfect example of the direction men in society are trending.

When grabbing my lunch today, I hear three men in line:
Man 1: "So, what'd you get?"
Man 2: "A table and some other things. They had a liquidation sale."
Man 3: "Where did you go?"
Man 2: "Pier 1 Imports. I got some decorative pillows, the table, and a bunch of other things. I basically filled my TrailBlazer for $75!"
Man 3: "Really? I might need to head over there after I get off work..."

For the love, guys, grow some testicles and find a Cabela's.

So, you are taking a conversation between 3 guys and using it to stereotype some or all of the male species? Seems logical.

Notice I said trending. Not stereotyping ALL men, because obviously there are those out there who have no idea what Pier 1 even is, still hunt for there own food, have hair on their palms, etc. (You must be one of the aforementioned types according to your response). Just saying that these instances are becoming more and more common in today's society.

You realize you can do outdoors "manly" things and also shop at Pier 1 right?

Edit: To be clear I've never actually been in a Pier 1 myself but I don't think that makes me more manly or anything.

Bingo. Most woman don't want a caveman that actually lives like one, and they'd prefer not to call a trailer "home".

Agreed, but when it gets to decorative pillows, that is overstepping the bounds of manhood lol

That's actually the sad part of the story. Pier 1 has some interesting stuff, but it's otherwise mostly overpriced junk. I don't want to imagine the sort of crap that guy got to fill-up an SUV for $75.

When you graduate from "bachelor pad" to "adult" you get accent pillows for the couch.

Maybe this generation is just more secure and not bent on living out old stereotypes

Metrosexual.

And evidently, it's also supposed to be a topic of conversation with your buddies? Thanks but no thanks. I'll pass.

I don't know about the Pier 1 Imports stuff but what in the Hell is the deal with dudes going to baby showers? I know the birth of a kid is a monumental event but nothing says you've been "de-balled" like seeing a dude at a baby shower. Might as well ask him to wear Crocs while you're at it.

You're a moron if you think I was putting home furnishings and Cabela's in the same thought.

That sounds about right. Why I said to fill an SUV had to be absolutely craptacular. Pier 1 is like the home of overpriced wicker. And men should not own wicker, metrosexual or not.

I've had to go to a few. It's basically a way to get more stuff. Really annoying. I mean, I gotta buy a fucking stroller to have a beer with my buddy now?

Because wicker is really shitty and always breaks. Nobody should own wicker.
