0% chance Hamilton comes up before September, absolutely 0.

Pretty sure both Lynn starts were at night. The first one was in STL, he beat Arroyo.

Just the no Vaseline thing, I mean I thought it was kind of funny but I'd rather he be pissed off after a 10 run loss to a division rival and not tweeting jokes.

I agree with this. I was pissed last night watching the news and they interviewed LeCure and Cozart. Both said, "it was a tough series, but hopefully we got that out of our system" and other bullshit answers. There was no anger. No fire. It was like watching younger white Dusty's giving the interview.

I want to see someone flip out and break a table or take a bat to a locker. Swear in the interview for Christ's sake!

Nobody on this team gets pissed. Just no fire whatsoever.

Agreed...I would love, as a fan, if one of our star players took a bat to the phone on the wall like Big Papi did.

In their defense they pretty much have a one game playoff spot locked up. I would assume they have less of a sense of urgency as they would if Arizona would actually be pushing them for the last playoff spot.

But they should hate the cards. Anyone with an ounce of competitiveness would be fired up losing 2/3 at home to them especially in a 10 run blowout. Not the reds.

I was gonna say it before the series, but the reds had the worst spot in their rotation going. Even though BA and ML have had good seasons, and ML has had a great season, those are the two guys that can get lit up on a moments notice. And they did. The reds may sneak in as a WC, and WC teams have done well in the postseason but unless this team drastically does a 180 they aren't going to make much noise. I think we can safely move on and put our emotions into football season now.

Well the good news is, after the oakland series, 38 of 52 are against under .500 teams.

I wish I could write a spirited response about everything in here but I can't so I'll sum this up:

Dusty sucks
Cingrani should start in the playoffs even if he only can go 5 or 6,
They need Ludwick back badly just as a clubhouse guy as much as his bat.
I really hope Hamilton gets used a decent amount when he gets called up because of the "spark" factor as Azu said.
Dusty sucks
Someone on this team needs to let loose in an interview or something or call the team out in a meeting and tell them if they don't stop playing like shit this season will end just like 2010 and 2012.

Just go apeshit during a game....the umps suck plenty....just go Andre Dawson and scare the hell out of everybody. I could see Latos or Homer doing it, but I want an offensive guy....the last time Meso did it he was chastised, got few chances and then was sent down.

Brandon is never serious enough to be taken seriously.....Votto, no, Choo (him going Hong Kong Foohey would be outstanding though)

I say Jay Bruce....he's a helluva good guy but I think him going nuts would be the biggest spark.....or fuckin Dusty going out and arguing UNTIL BEYOND EJECTION over Jack Hannahan or something he'd never ever do.

Wonder what BPs avg is since his little leave of absence for baby #3 (that we know of). Stats show he hits 50+ better on the road...maybe he is less distracted from all his debbies in Cincy. Not quite sure that Hamilton will do much to spark this team. He is hitting under .250, OBP just over .300. You would expect that to go down for a time yet at the big league level. It is not like he would be injected into the lineup. Any spark this team will have is IF Ludwick can produce some power and solidify the lineup. Anyone see the stat about who has the most XBH since 2011? He doesn't get his due.

I wouldn't expect Hamilton to have a Puig type spark, but if he can come up and steal some bases, or get a triple or two and do some things no others can do on the base paths then it might give a little boost.

yeah, that would be cool and all. What he is doing is pretty much unprecedented at the ML level. He has to have some great speed, quickness and be able to read the pitchers very well. You don't steal bases on speed alone. Some of my fastest players I coach were poor baserunners. Much of it is instinct. We will see what major league pitchers do to slow him down. Also, you just don't run that wild in the bigs. Most managers don't look at the positives, and only focus on "what if he gets out". Plus, the stage is so much bigger, and getting thrown out is such a bigger deal in the bigs then in minors. Will be interesting when he gets up here, but probabl wont be until they expand the rosters
