Preventing the spread of CWD has a lot bigger impact than busting Joe Schmo and his 2 plant personal use grow op.

You still deserved to be intimidated by 6 armed agents because of something your cousin might have done.

Glad he didn't poach anything, but honestly poachers get whatever they deserve

Indeed, which is why professional LE needs to act in a professional manner. What was the point of the procedure?

If, to your point, the agency tried diplomacy then whey haven't they come clean and public? Transparency and Accountability isn't just plain T&A (no pun intended). I'm again dangerously pushing this to the political forum but it appears that government actors have no sense of either.

Says the guy who has never had to deal with professional poachers.

This guy took at least 3 deer from our property, cut multiple fences allowing horses to get out and we believe even knicked a horse with an arrow.

Again, there is nothing to say that they didn't act diplomatically. The animal rescue folks are just pissed that they euthanized the deer.

Yeah, but shouldn't there be some sort of happy medium, especially since in the whole thing Enforcer's talking about, there was no poaching involved? Getting harassed by a half-dozen armed agents off nothing more than hearsay involving a family member just reeks of power being arbitrarily thrown around to intimidate people into being good little complying sheep. A "When Orwell Becomes Reality" sort of thing.

Post #70? I mean, "harassed" was my word, but someone says they go for the intimidation and then mentioned 6 armed guys came to work to talk to him about a family member -- at least to me, that would be, if not harassing, at least over-the-top -- especially when you consider that, according to his post, it was all based off a hearsay claim from a neighbor who calls someone whenever she sees hunting going on.

Look out side the box people this is not about the fawn, that was just the means to the madness. Look at the signs Society of St. Francis that right a religious social group. Better yet a Christian / Catholic base organization. Now if this was the Ahmadin Jihad Society would there have been a raid? Eat the fucking deer …

redstreak one;1481315 wrote:The article stated they used aerial reconnaissance! That right there tells me that public funds were being abused! How much did that cost? A quote from the story, "The warden drafted an affidavit for the search warrant, complete with aerial photos in which he described getting himself into a position where he was able to see the fawn going in and out of the barn." I know some of you have hard ons for arguing with each other and completely taking the extreme stance one way or the other, but that IMO is a waste of public money.
remember, they have to satisfy the judge and the judge needs to know they know exactly which house etc to serve the warrant on. simply stating an address isnt good enough. the style of house, color of the house, if there is a garage, which way it faces, the color the front door is painted, any trees or shrubs in the front yard. the more details the better to CYA.

The article is one-sided. How do we know there weren't previous threats made toward ODNR officers if they tried to take the animal. Hard to agree or disagree with actions if both sides of the story aren't presented.
