You can fix your own title. Just double click the title on the Serious Business page listing the threads.

Now for the topic:

I'm still waiting on my Pog collection to pay off in the millions! I figure in only 40 more years I will fund my retirement on Pogs.

I'm getting more out of this pic than any discussion of Beanies would provide. Much More.

I remember a guy trying this with baseball cards, and this was mid-80's. A little late to the game (and he wasn't buying the rarer stuff but loading up on Topps). Still, I think he probably should have at least doubled his money, I don't think he would have lost any money (other than interest/inflation).

Didn't you watch Looper? Silver is the way to go!

But I remember in high school I had friends mom who had a bunch of beanie babies... I don't know if she ever planned on selling them or was just collecting them lol.

The 80's called...they want their money back.

But until the global deflationary pressures subside, I don't see an end to the gold bull market.

Note, however, that gold was up near $2000/oz not that long ago, and recently trading @ $1250 (very close to a 3-yr low). You most certainly have to pick you buying spots.

And I still prefer investing over buy-and-hold gold. I think it's less risky and expect better returns over some 20-yr horizon you're talking about with college tuition.
