They always pull in a top 10 class. It's still early.

Not always, but who is keeping count... besides me. It could get better. They have a chance at some really good players. OSU usually doesn't end strong in terms of closing the deal with top recruits, no matter how you try to look at it. But that is probably because of poor insider information that gets fans excited.

Meyer stepping down could drop Sharriff Floyd into the Buckeye's laps

OSU is usually in the top 15 in terms of recruiting every year..

If they beat Oregon, mixed with Meyer stepping down, they could pull in an even stronger class. But yeah, it's still early.

they could have a recruiting class in the top 50 every year and still win the big 10

Elam could also look at the Bucks strongly now.

The only reason the class is lower now is numbers. These services don't rate small classes high -- ever.

If Ohio State gets a couple more key recruits (Henderson, Floyd) and fills out the class, they'll likely be top 10 or thereabouts.

December 26th isn't a great indication of where they'll end up... wait till January 15th and see where they are, you'll have a better indication by then.

Bucks have already lost a couple of guys they really wanted early on here in the process, but I think they'll pull together a top class before its all said and done

I recall reading a piece that looked at recruiting class rankings vs on field performance and it showed that those schools that got good/great classes regularly USUALLY did better on the field than their peers.

Wish I could recall where I saw this, but it was interesting.

Could this be a case of Tressel Ball catching up with him? Young people want to play for a school who isn't afraid to open it up and aggressive. But like others said, it's still early. We will see where the bucks finish.

Jt's contract run outs after the 2012 season. No talk of extension that I have heard. Kids and parents know this. Personally I think he retires after 2012. This will hurt in recruiting because he has not said he will go beyond 2012. I hope does. But because of his faith I think he has some other things in life he wants to do. imo

Guys, this is the answer you are looking for. OSU's "per recruit" ranking is top-10, they just don't have the number of scholarships to give out to get a top-10 class overall.

The recruiting rankings are rather meaningless until National Signing Day. Ohio State is ranked as low as they are, because they have commitments from so few players. If you go by by Star Average, Ohio State is ranked 15th. Ohio State only has 15 commitments. Of the 25 schools ranked ahead of Ohio State, only two of them have fewer commitments than Ohio State.

Coaching at Florida gives Urban chest pains, Coaching at Ohio State would give him a heart attack. The ignorant Ohio State whiner fans would kill him.

OSU's ranking will shoot up if they can land a few of the following players:

Henderson
Floyd
Bryant
Anderson
Hankins
Hicks
