Still trying to post a pic of a hot Asian woman (safe for work), but in this case a few shareholders are trying to tank the company which never works. That is why (not taking this to the political board) some progressive members of society buy shares in Halliburton or ExxonMobile just to have a "say" at the annual meeting.

You do realize that the shareholders are the (residual) owners right? If you're talking about the difference in voting power, then that statement is a little more correct depending on who is on the Board and who are the officers of the company, and what the voting arrangements are for different classes of shares.

Not at all saying that. But do you think these "assholes" are being assholes just to be one? Or do you think with a little change they could try not to be an asshole because the admin is trying to improve the place?

For example.. I call people names on here from time to time. I would definitely avoid doing that if Justin implemented this voting rule because it shows me the forum is changing to better my time on here. Without this change, what's my motivation to not break the rules?

Actually, mine is more accurate. A say in how a business is run is not what people are proposing here, they want to be the decision makers, which isn't how it works in "real" life.

I honestly understand what you're saying. Just don't think we are wanting to be the decision makers, just want our voice to be heard about how terrible a mod F4F is. Justin won't listen, so what else are we going to do? A semi annual vote isn't much to ask. At least in my opinion. If anything, it would give the OC a little more traffic as it would be a unique trait of the site compares to others.

Obviously I sent him to do it because I am not to be trusted. But seriously, he shared the PM with me. I don't think that makes him a weasel, he was just letting me know that I may still be facing a losing battle no matter what I do. Btw, I don't hold grudges or have agendas.

What gave you the idea that I was going to change my mind about the poll after his post?

You won't see me publicly bitch about moderation if cry4fail is removed. If I have a concern/complaint I will pm the mod or you.

I appreciate that. But I'd actually prefer you PM the mod AND myself. You should be able to PM multiple people at the same time.

I think there are some of both. Unfortunately, those in the former category seem to believe that their being assholes actually constitutes a contribution to the site, and their absence would be a detriment to the site. Not the case. There are posters whose absence may be missed to some small degree, but damaging to the success of the site? Not at all.
