But you didn't use it in post #328, and that's why Goon responded as he did in #329 ;)

I call for Democratic Impeachment of Mods. 4 times a year, Mods should be voted on. If a mod gets over 70% bad marks, he/she should be removed and replaced. Freedom for all.

Partial quote, not a complete one. Again, red box.

A red box is coming your way, I'm trying to post a picture of a hot Asian girl (safe for work), but it likely won't work.

Not a bad idea. Or something like every 6 months make a poll with the names of all mods and whoever gets the least amount of votes gets the boot. Give everyone 2 votes or something. Change we can believe in!

I suggested this a year ago. A promotion/relegation system like soccer. A lot of people liked the idea, but of course it was too logical.

Not sure why the owner of a private enterprise would turn over the running of it to the "customers".

I
like the idea, but I wouldnt say lowest gets the boot. That will work for awhile, but eventually you might be replacing a good mod with a shit one because you only have good mods left. It should be like congress, a certain number is needed to stay (or on the flip, to get the boot).

Lol @ calling this a private enterprise. I mean yeah it's technically true. But forums' success depends on the posters. Why not keep the posters happy by allowing them to vote on the mods they feel aren't doing their job?

Agree with this. Give a floor approval rating. If they don't meet that rating every time there's a vote, they're done

Because it's a exercise in futility. If you think that if Justin changes his moderator roster, that the site assholes will cease being assholes and new members will flock to the site, you're dreaming.

Not a good analogy, but nice try. This would be more like giving shareholders a say in how the enterprise is run. The owner has the final say, but it's always good to keep the shareholders involved. JMO.

Don't put it to a fucking vote. It's your website. You appoint, you ban, you regulate content. If people don't like it, they can fuck off.

Suggestions are great, but if you're happy with the moderation you have and they're doing the job you want them to do....fuck everyone else.

Don't forget the fact that this is your website. If it's going to work, you need to run it accordingly, like you're the boss and we are your minions. Run it like a business, let people know you're the boss.

And change your avatar to this:

A few people have even said they now understand what the complaining is about. I just don't want to see this site lose any more posters, because when there's only 50 active posters every one counts. I personally love what the OC offers. A good mix of sports and bullshit, and it's way easier for me to keep up to date on current events by just scrolling through the front page than to find it elsewhere. But when people start leaving, the impact is exponential.

Good post.
