Do we have one of these? I just started a new program, that I kinda blended with a BFS program I learned a few years back. Basically, you track total weight lifted per exercise, per day, per week. You then make adjustments every week to "beat" what you did the week before, trying to lift more on every exercise, every week, even if it is a small increase, as they will add up in time.

Anyone do anything like this? We're basically doing a hodge-podge of exercises, but trying to focus on one muscle group per day.

Thoughts? What kinds of exercise routines do you/have you done where you find the biggest improvements? I am not a supplement guy.

the paleo thread has some good stuff in it.

one thing in there that i really like was reverse pyramid. instead of going up in weight and down in reps, you reverse it.

The most important muscle in the body is the heart so I run.
Natural resistance like push-ups, pull-ups and sit-ups are good. Weights are bad.

P90X2. I like it got body fat tested two months ago after doing my second round and was at 6.8%. I was in very good shape when I started but it has taken it to a new level.

I saw some nice gains using this method, especially with lower body stuff (squats, leg press, etc.)

We had a P90X that died out and some started posting workout stuff on the paleo thread.

I try to do three days weight training based on P90X.
Two days of indoor cardio with Insanity.
In the summer bike or run once or twice a week. In the winter swim once a week.

No, not solely on one group. We'll put a main focus on one group, or a pair, and mix in some other sets, targeting other muscles. Today, we did about 4 triceps exercises, and littered in some legs, bi's, chest, etc.

OK, gotcha. I like grouping two or three per session and don't like doing a major muscle (chest or legs) more than once every 4-5 days. Have fun.

I'm in the middle of another round of P90 right now. I did it a few years ago and dropped 30 lbs. After some sympathy weight gain with the recent baby, I'm trying to get back to form. If you don't have a ton of time to work out, P90 is pretty quick, easy, and gets decent results.

Yeah weights are not recommended for those under 12 years old and over 78 years old.
