Fuck.


I'll be happy to just get it looked at and get some type of closure. It's driving me crazy thinking about what it could be. Some days it's fine, the others it's annoying me all day. It's not even swollen...ever.

Fuck, tore my PCL/Meniscus in college playing intramural flag football smh. It was a fucking bitch, ~4 months before walking, 6 months without a noticeable limp, 1 yr and 60 lbs heavier before I felt back. Hope its not the same for you.

It's just on the top of my kneecap. I can still run, although I don't. I think if it was something major I'd be in a hell of a lot more pain.

RUNNERS KNEE?!

Initial diagnosis is that I have it. Doc said there could be a small meniscus tear and I'm waiting for insurance approval for the MRI.


Has anyone dealt with this? All signs point to it eventually going away unless it's a serious case or there are some alignment issues with my patella and femur.


I'm just relieved surgery is unlikely, I was pretty worried.

Are you heel striking when you run? Shoes? How frequently?

Is the pain in the front, under the knee cap? Does it feel like it's filled with fluid?

You could probably diagnose every active person with a "torn meniscus", but needing surgery is definitely the extreme. As a runner in a prior life, I simply stopped running nearly as much, stuck to sprinting and lifting heavy. Got in far better shape and enjoy it much more than I ever did pounding the pavement.

Funny thing is....I don't even run regularly. For distance/time? Never.

Just cardio at the gym, occasional HIIT sessions. I also run sprints and play pick up soccer, but I haven't done either for months.

No fluid, right on the top of the kneecap.

It doesn't necessarily occur with people who run a lot. Snowboarding is what flared it up and that involves a lot of constant knee bending.

But it's due to repetitive use and force, though. I do know that in my case, I still had a need to get it "repaired", but when I cut out the running, the symptoms and discomfort really got better. The damage was already done, but still. What appeared to be an acute injury at first glance, was just chronic abuse.

So, I made this and it was pretty good. I only eat 2 meals a day (still on that IF), so the entire cake is still below my macros per meal. I tried eating the whole thing. I have no idea how the hell people can do that. I tapped out after half way thru the cake.

In what way? If it fits your macros, it fits your macros. If you're asking if it counts against your fast, then I would say it breaks the fast.

This way. I've seen different schools of thought on it. I usually will only coffee w/ GFB on HIIT or cardio days for morning.

I've read coffee is fine with a small splash of milk or a teaspoon of sugar, but butter seems to cross over the line of fasting imo.

So I am not into working out hard or counting macros or anything, but I am trying to run more and do body weight exercises (and try to eat reasonably healthy other than drinking beer). I also hate breakfast and usually only eat a nature valley bar or oatmeal/ nothing. After doing some reading over adding grass-fed butter to coffee, would it be worth trying as a breakfast replacement? Is it relatively healthy for everyone, regardless of workout level?

Everyone is different. Anecdotal: My personal experience (FWIW) is that I started experimenting with it on cardio days, enough that I ran a half marathon and sprint triathlon and felt great in doing so. I find my mindset for weight days is almond milk w/ whey protein.
