Kids getting swolled the fuck up, looking like shit, then losing it all.
Yep. My college hall was loaded with bodybuilders & football players.....empty tuna cans stinking up the hallway floor, syringes stuck in the hall ceiling.

I have never even used creatine (or similar) let alone steroids. Got accused of it in HS when I went from 125 lb to 185 lbs in 2.5-3 years.

Scared of the stuff to be honest, I will just stick with protein shakes/bars for recovery and a normally high protein diet.

There's nothing to be scared of if you stick with the basic Test compounds and find a legit source. The biggest downside is you better do your homework and realize there COULD be implications with fertility and shutdown going forward.

I'd never recommend anyone under 25 and who hasn't proven they can train, recover, diet and build pretty significant strength/mass levels without it.

On the other side, the way it's demonized today is a complete joke.

Agree 1000%. I'm a huge proponent of T-Therapy. It's a quality of life thing. Once you hit 25, it's pretty much all down hill as far as testosterone production goes. Start losing muscle mass, gain belly fat, decreased libido, lethargic, etc. If monitored by a doc, there's nothing wrong with keeping the test at baseline levels. It's when people acquire it for abuse that they run into trouble.

...and almost all of the nightmare stories regarding "steroids" usually have them lumped in with improper Estrogen control, combining numerous compounds including Liver damaging orals and the use of other non-schedule III substances like Clen, T-3, DNP. Then you have people who completely misuse Insulin (which can be an instant killer) and diuretics.

Show me someone who ever died from Testosterone (even abuse of it) only. It doesn't exist.

Yeah, most of the bodybuilder horror stories you hear are from bad stacks. To me, it's utter stupidity for anyone, who is not diabetic, to be taking insulin. Plus, as you mentioned, the orals are brutal on the liver. Not sure if it's still around but there was an oral called Anadrol 50, back in the day, that was so potent that it had to be cut in half. If was horrible on the liver.

I don't think they make the 50 tabs anymore. It's still around but not with the same dosing.

Sunday's workout was postponed due to a concussion. Still in a fog. Hope to be back at it by Thursday.

In the town that I live in, when we get a torrential downpour, the streets flood. Sunday, my girlfriend & I were leaving the house just after a heavy rain. The street had about 8" of water in it and the sidewalk had about 4". I didn't want my shoes to get soaked so I left the front landing (concrete) and walked over to the grass (yard), which is actually a hill sloped down to the sidewalk. There was a dry spot so I wanted to avoid the water. I was trying to walk down the hill as carefully as possible but my shoes slipped out from under me and I bit it. Back of my head hit the hill and I popped right up, no problem. Rest of the day was fine until I woke up yesterday with a pounding headache. Was better this morning but still in a fog.

I need to get back on a solid routine again, been traveling a lot the past month and haven't really been able to lift as much as I'd like. I'm thinking of trying the 10k kettlebell swing challenge and then going back into a 5/3/1 program. I notice my squats and deadlifts really thrived under the 5/3/1/

How important is rest when you only lift 2 days per week? For me, it's usually Monday bi/tri/shoulder, and Wednesday chest/back/everything else.

I think it's more getting enough sleep than taking days off. Rest days don't have to be total days off, they can be low impact activities, long walks, loaded carries, etc etc. But a lot of what I've read says you need sleep.

Went to see my doc for an unrelated problem yesterday and mentioned I'd been having some "issues" with my knees lately. She said I basically have no reflexes, the knees are "bone on bone" and it's likely I have arthritis in them. So...I have that going for me. SMDH

Time to change up how you workout.

Two knee replacement procedures will not be fun.

Guilty of the cardio warmup as I usually jog on the treadmill for 5 minutes followed by stretching.

Always set my phone clock for one minute so I do keep my breaks between sets short and consistent.

Was kind of surprised to find out this morning that Matt "Kroc" Kroczaleski, who was a regular contributor to T-Nation and might be best known as the originator of the dumbbell "Kroc Rows" is pulling a Caitlyn Jenner and plans to compete, against men, in a wig & lipstick. To each their own....

Took about an 11 day break from my diet while on vacation. Back on the grind today. I think I ate more carbs in those 11 days than I would eat in half a year [emoji51].
