That's solid. Bench and shoulder press have always been a weak point for me, especially now because of shoulder injuries. Trying to get back over 225lb on bench, I'm at 220 for 1 right now. When i got hurt about 18mo ago i couldn't do any barbell bench without pain and i wasn't able to go over 50lbs dumbbelss for more than a couple reps. Did a lot of light weight work and PT exercises on my shoulder and last summer i was finally able to use the barbell for bench and shoulder press again. So my squat and deadlift are a lot farther along than my presses. I've been doing a 5/3/1 program, mixing strength and volume sets and it's been helping me get my numbers back up.jmog;1717507 wrote:I am about 10.5 months in (started working out last May) and I am down 31 pounds. I am basically right at where I want to be weight wise (could be a couple lbs lighter and wouldn't be terrible).
I have went from doing bench sets of 175 to 275 in that 10.5 months (other exercises have gone up too, but not as drastic). I am switching to more strength training and less cardio now that I am real close to the goal weight (had been doing about 3 days each a week, now will probably do 4 strength and 2 cardio).
