I tried the first meal at noon way back when I first started IF. I had the same issue. I now eat lunch around 2-2:30.
I have been doing intermittant fasting for 12 weeks and dropped 32 lbs in that time.
I fast in 3 24 hour windows each week. Sun 8pm-mon 8pm, tues 8pm-wed 8pm, and thur 8pm-fri 8pm are my 3 cycles of fasting and eat up to 500 calories during that period. The other 24 hour cycles I eat pretty much what I want within limits..still pzza, wings, burgers, etc..just less than before.
Most of my weight training is body weight....mostly pushups/situps and also go for runs. Gunning for a 300 on my fall PT test.
Eat. STop. Eat was an eye opener for me on the fasting way of doing things. It talks about a 24 hour window, not necessarily has to be a full calender day. Trainer buddy of mine hooked me up on this and the 24 hr cycle. I am loving it as it seems like there is nothing to it. There are quite a few health benefits to fasting.
I like the 24 hour cycle because each day I get to have at least one big meal. For instance, dinner 8pm sunday evening to start the fast and then monday if I was getting hungry i knew that at 8pm that evening I was gonna have whatever I wanted pretty much so mentailly it was much easier than having to think about fasting until the next day.
Then for 24 hours I eat to a maintenance level.
