How come he didnt out run them German bullets in the "Dirty Dozen" Im guessing in the late 60's American society didnt idolize idiot pro athletes like they do today and hero worship every single thing about them including the stupidity that comes out of there mouths. If that movie were made today he would have been the sole survivor and another tinsle town darling making millions in would be B movies.

Any relation to Fireball Roberts? He flipped and later died too. No spectators were killed in his wreck though.

No. Fireball Roberts' real name was Glenn Edward Roberts, while Fireball Robertson's real name was Edward Glenn Robertson. Kinda spooky huh?

Pretty good chance they may have been related though...they were both from the South and obviously had nascar in common.
